Soon, I am anticipating a time when we'll have "Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Enthusiasts" recognized worldwide as a vocation alongside engineers, doctors, etc. "Already, blockchain technology is employing several persons and sustaining families across the world." Those are the words I told a young man that told me that he's been sacked from his work recently.

It's happening in many nations including ours that a good population of workforce are losing their jobs especially in the Private sectors. Just two days ago, Nigeria's largest cement producing factory, Dangote Cement PLC owned by Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote sacked 3,000 staff Staff Without Notice amid the covid-plagued economy. This was reported by the reknown Sahara Reporters:
Nigeria's largest cement producing factory, Dangote Cement PLC, has fired more than 3000 staff without prior notice or due process, SaharaReporters has uncovered. The company, which is owned by Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, started the process of discarding 80 per cent of it's staff on June 17 without explanation. Of 6000 drivers employed by the company, 4000 have been laid off retaining only 2000.
Imagine what these individuals would resort to doing to keep their families being sacked from a work they have been giving 12 hours of six out of seven days weekly. Amazingly, most persons working for Dangote are university graduates with Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate degrees, but doing menial jobs. This is how we roll in Nigeria and nobody really cares.
In a related publication by PunchNg, it has been reported that:
... Nigerian tertiary education institutions produce up to 500,000 graduates every year and there are also Nigerian graduates who study abroad and come home to compete for jobs annually. This new data is a sign of the need for urgent actions on both public and private sector operators.
Worse of such news are on the way. However, there is good news from the blockchain world. Hive Blockchain is currently recruiting.
