Do I have Financial Goals for 2021? Aiming to get this into a readable piece

Do I have financial goals for 2021?

Sure I have but I was never used to put them onto paper or in a proper plan as a strategy - this might be dumb but I always been a fan of investing with a bit gut feel backed up by research - I just lack a written finance strategy paper.

Given I am a learned banker who worked after studies of international economics for Commerzbank in Frankfurt by trading billions of Euro and other fiat currency based bonds / securities this might sound surprising.

LEO and Hive convince me to attend a contest

I can't really recall attending a contest on our chain since 2-3 years or so but this one sounds attractive and more important a good opportunity to create a bit "good" marketing with added-value about our community here to tell the outside world about our great ecosystem. Thanks to @leofinance and @theycallmedan to sponsor this initiative for bringing people to share their financial goals for 2021. Major kudos to the organizing crew around @aliento and @hispapro with the collaboration of @tripode.

On to the great framework of questions

I try to answer as much as I am allowed to answer by the boss of the household lol.

Which is going to be your investment strategy for 2021?

Not sure you can call that a strategy (not boring you with the usual buzz claims, buy low, sell blabla.....) hence my aim is to find a valid mix of real life usable and digital assets.

Talking crypto I only invest into tokens that can prove a use case or show a vision with realistic potential - period. There is not a lot liquid money so I only invest or switch carefully if at all.

My BTC is what I am not going to touch at all, might switch some altcoins towards BTC, even toward ETH or coins that prove stable development - such as Cardano.

Do you have any specific assets that you want to invest in?

Not really, open for convincing assets in crypto recommended by people I trust - other then that I am fine with the mix. No plan to shift anything into traditional stocks or so.

Preferred Investment? Crypto, Real State, Commodities, Stocks?

Given I am German which means we are / I am:

  1. boring
  2. not funny
  3. drink Beer all day
  4. totally old fashioned
  5. the best ever football country

The most important area still is / was real estate - but not as an invest to gain dividends but to secure life when you are older and to ensure the daughter will have a kick-start and asset enough to survive no matter what happens - another or existing Corona ca change a lot for original used wealth thinking. Alongside real estate, hard assets like Gold should not be touched as well as they are not as volatile as crypto and certain stocks.

Do you have a plan or a set of goals on how to use and grow your stake?

Talking about our Hive blockchain I have no dedicated plan towards Hive Power increase to become Orca or Whale but I always add more to my stake, not powering down usually. When we had the move from Steemit to Hive I could have easily become an Orca at least but invested a lot into other DApps on the chain mainly Splinterlands and a little bit Leo - the tiny Leo invest was probably too low so I focus a bit on that token moving forward. This (LEO) internal Hive community does a lot things right if you check the prize and the way the LEO whales vote and engage in the community. I still powerup 50% of the post rewards and sometimes liquid Hive, I run a music community I love to curate and I invest into great games such as @rabona where I do not play to expect an ROI but to have fun.

Share your prediction for the price of Hive and LEO in 2021

That is a difficult one. While I certainly think the prize of Hive is totally undervalued I also realize (since some years) that maybe the social media part of the chain as the most known is not helping to drive a prize up. Taking a look at EOS Voice, Steemit and other similar communities I hardly see any that performs well in prize. I am sure our blockchain could be worth around 2-10$ if we just focus on the fast, secure technology that enables brands, businesses to run great DApps with real life value for users - not even important these users know their loved app is running on the hive chain.

As it is now I do not expect a major jump but hope we stay above the 10 cents at least. No matter where we are going to and what great tech @blocktrades delivers we need professional marketing, a marketing that proves value, a marketing that combines digital, traditional campaigns with highly visible initiatives. A marketing that uses all elements of PR, sponsoring, ads, events etc but with a heavy focus outside crypto, blockchain and tech please as target audience.

LEO could stay easily at the good prize development or even move to over 50 cents based on various reasons:

  • Integration of other crypos / chain
  • Great onboarding via twitter etc
  • A community that is smaller but more focused

Fingers crossed we will see a totally different Hive prize compared to Steem soon!

Ahhhh @alexvan - you put two smiles on my face now - this is the first real comment on my post and I am so thankful for that. Boring is often good, especially real estate is boring but can become really profitable - also depends on the location this asset is sitting though. I love the excitement of digital innovation and crypto - it is fun but sometimes I wished a bit more boring and stable

On crypto play it on the time and make it a boring investment. Buy some coins with potential, put them in a storage and only read if there are HF present. Don't touch them if not needed. After 5 years check them and voila some 10x return!

For sure these 10x return coins have nothing to do with social media communities :-)

I got here just in the final hour of voting to make it count! Wish we could have that beer and talk music, crypto and football at some point!

I'm with you on real estate, I'd just love to have my own house but it's damn expensive here in the UK, at least in the south East. Also not touching my BTC and moved most of my steem out to BTC but the rest used to power up Hive.

Now I wonder if I'm too heavy invested into crypto and don't have enough diversity haha! BTC is really easy to buy and store away though.

Catch you around and hope 2021 is great for you 🍻

Thanks dude - a real life music, crypto, football and beer catchup would be magnificent.

Real Estate is damn expensive over here as well - my city is the most expensive one but I do it for the girl.

Have a fab 2021
