STEEMIT Popularity and its relation with the STEEM price

avatar

Having a look on the Google trends today regarding STEEM popularity I have noticed something remarkable on the interest of the people towards STEEMIT.com

This "goggle trends service" provides you with a nice chart that tries to represent the "Search interest" relative to the highest point on the chart for the given region and time. A value of 100 is the peak popularity for the term. A value of 50 means that the term is half as popular. A score of 0 means that there was not enough data for this term.

So, I set the chart including all the timeframe from the start of the blockchain till today and this is what I found:

The interest of the people over steemit.com is uprising since the HF22 deployment, more or less.

The upraise of this variable usually tends to coincide with the economical cycles so, for instance, if we use the Historical Chart of the STEEM cryptocurrency, the shape, peaks and valleys really fit with the ones obtained on the "Interest of the people" chart:

Using the same chart but won a logarithmic scale, the peaks and valleys are more evident for comparison purposes:

Despite we mostly agree that perhaps STEEMIT frontend is not the best among the different options we have, it is still our main DApp and the first one to be checked and discover by any newcomer.

It is really important to understand that anything we do in order to improve its visibility and promotion would cause a clear effect on the price of STEEM, more than if we do the same on other front-ends.

In my opinion, @justinsunsteemit should work first on the improvement of this front-end towards the venue of great public, making it attractive and easy to use.

Is that maybe what he is going to do next?

I think so.

As a newcomer I used Steemit for months as well, and that's where most of us come for the first time, but if felt outdated two years ago and it still feels so. Hopefully justin will give up on his Steem Tron shit and other plans and just be a good CEO, make the most out of his investment, and take this uncertainty out because I don't like the situation at all.

I have been using the steemit front end, but now I am using the steempeak front end. I like it a lot better. I definitely think a update is coming to the steemit front end. It needs it really bad. Steempeak is way better.

Everything will be ok. This is a mini-crisis just like before HF-21/22 (or almost all HFs hehehe). I don't think Justin Sun wants to ruin his million dollars investment and fuck up our blockchain. He knows that people had their eyes on Steem before the Tron/Steem announcement so I think he is gonna keep things as it is for now. no token swap and no blockchain migration to Tron. He even told the Steemit team to remove those adds lol.

I do not own a single TRX Token so this is just my personal opinion. We needed a guy like Sun. Steem to the moon baby!
