Prepare yourselves for tomorrow! The first drop of packs from the new upcoming collectible NFT game MotoGP Ignition will go live at 9 am UTC. I personally think this could be the next big thing after NBA Topshot and I have a feeling the demand will be huge and these first gen packs will sell out in minutes (even though they say the packs will be on sale till the 9th of April). So, if you want to partake in this first drop, be ready to click as fast as possible on the refresh button at 9 am UTC.

What makes this project special?

First of all, this is a part of revvmotorsport, which already has a well established and functioning race NFT game, called F1 Deltatime.

Secondly, it is made by Animoca Brands, a company that's a leader in the field of digital entertainment, specializing in blockchain, gamification, and artificial intelligence technologies. Its broad portfolio of mobile products includes games such as The Sandbox, Crazy Kings, and Crazy Defense Heroes as well as other products utilizing popular intellectual properties such as Formula 1®, Marvel, Garfield, Snoopy, Thomas & Friends™, Power Rangers, MotoGP, and Doraemon.

What to expect?

MotoGP™ Ignition will deliver two forms of MotoGP™ branded experiences centered around limited-edition non-fungible tokens (NFTs): Collection and Racing Management.

Players can collect different MotoGP™ collectibles, including riders, bikes, coaches, gear, and bike parts. These are all NFTs, available in various rarities.

The NFTs sold during this sale will offer utility to the Racing Manager game, and will be used in collection events.

In the Racing Management game, players will use NFTs in a multiplayer management game and earn rewards that have real value, including REVV tokens. Play-to-Earn is a key concept in the REVV Motorsport ecosystem and in MotoGP™ Ignition specifically.

There will be 3 different types of card packs on sale. To help ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity to obtain a pack, a maximum of 3 packs of the same type can be purchased at once.

The first sale features 15 riders and 15 bikes of the MotoGP™ Championship 2020 Season. The remaining riders and bikes will be released in the second sale, planned for 9 April 2021.

Please note: Card packs from the first sale can be opened starting 21 April 2021.

• 2020 Teams: 14 USD - 3750 packs

Thoughts

Another one for the books, is what I think. MotoGP has some crazy fans out there and like I (and many others) have said, the NTF world is booming. The timing for this launch is perfect, many people are complaining they can't buy packs from the NBA Topshot game and NBA topshot has paved the way for these kind of games to instantly take off like a rocket. I think MotoGP is underestimating how fast these packs will sell out and I expect the site to crash tomorrow, but we'll see.

On the gaming side, this one even has a lot more to offer than the NBA 'game', where basically all you do is collect. MotoGP will let you can stake your NFT's to earn REVV and manage your team to participate in championships, which can earn you REVV or limited NFT's. The fact that your NFT's have a utility beyond collecting is great and will attract a big crowd, once word gets out. Remember this is very very early, sort of like pre-alpha stage. The price of the packs is not too high either, so you can't really go wrong there, plus the series one of the NBA Topshots are going for 20x easily now. Of course, it all depends on how popular this game will become, but my gut feeling says this could be huge.

Update on Ben Mauro

The opening of Ben Mauro's Evolution packs should have happened today, but it is delayed to tomorrow evening. Still super excited about that and I keep hoping for the 888 mint number of Happy, in which case I have a nice surprise for the people that comment on this post (and yesterday's post) if that would happen.
