The Rise And The Rise Of Bitcoin

This is a Bitcoin documentary that discusses the earliest days of Bitcoin. If you think we are in the early stages now, you should have seen it then. This video interviews some of the original bitcoiners and the path that they took.

There are early adopters and there are super early adopters.

In cryptocurrency, we are still in the early stages now. However, it is vital to remember how far we have come. Since the early days, we are light years ahead of where they were a decade ago.

If you have not seen this documentary, it is recommended that you do when time permits. It is a stark revelation as to how far we came.

It is interesting to look back upon the views at the time. There was a professor who felt, in 2013 or 2014, there is no way Bitcon would survive. He even said that, in a decade, we will look back on the experiment of Bitcoin and laugh.

I do not think anyone is laughing today.

The reason why I feel this is important to see is because of what it takes to be in something like this. Even now, people are doubting what is happening before their eyes.

Simply put, to be successful, it take foresight as to what is going to happen. That is the case with all of technology. The difference is that we are part of the people who are forging the path and make it happen. We are not sitting idly by and hoping things change.

Of course, 8 years ago, this industry really took some imagination to see what was happening. Between the collapse of Mt. Gox and the subpeonas that the government sent out, it was a scary time. There was little clarity as to what was legal and what was not.

One of the magical moments was when the price of Bitcoin started to ascend. That validated what many thought early on. Bitcoin was suddenly real.

We are at the same point today with many projects. People look at things languishing, believing they are dead. Unfortunately for them, history is not kind to that point of view about technology.

Where is the world going to be in 10 years? What will things look like? These are questions that are crucial to investing today. Having an idea about major trends is a safe way to determine what the possibilities are.

One thing we know that is for certain: things will be a lot different in the first part of the next decade.

Digital assets are going to take over. We might not be able to see it now but the day will arrive when tokenization is the default mindset. Whatever the situation, people will first look to tokenize whatever they are doing.

The vision of the original bitcoiners was that Bitcoin would solve most of our worldly problems. This idealism is honorable although things did not turn out that way. Bitcoin is now being scooped up by the same institutions that it threatens.

That said, the idealistic vision, in my view, still applies. The only difference is it is much wider than it was before. This model now applies to cryptocurrency in general, not just Bitcoin. There are dozens of tokens that will change the lives of millions of people over time. There are probably hundreds more that will alter the path for hundreds of thousands.

Each passing year creates a new area that takes off. In 2020, it was DeFi that absolutely exploded. What will it be this year? In addition to the continued progress in DeFi, we will certainly see something that gains a ton of traction.

Overall, we are growing at an astronomical rate. This means that we are likely to see the tipping point within 18 months.

When that happens, we will likely be close to mass market acceptance in the crypto world.

I remember this documentary it goes on towards a lot about how money has been devalued so much abd how Bitcoin is going to be major as it already is now. There are people sitting on serious wealth right now for just 10 years ago

Interesting. I remember learning about bitcoin 8 years ago but I didn't invest back then. I am surprised by all the forks of bitcoin that exist now and I think there are more of them being created even now. I wonder which direction the crypto world moves in 18 months and whether crypto will have mass adoption by then.

Mass adoption is a sliding scale obviously but I think the next 18 months will be huge in terms of the number of people using crypto applications. How much of it really ties to their daily financial lives is a major question. However, there will be gamers and such who end up on crypto based sites, earning and doing whatever they want with those tokens.

All the development is starting to get to the point where each new one has a bigger impact. That is what it takes to bring something closer to the mainstream.

Defi is the flavor of the years, at least so far, in 2017 privacy coins were all the rage at some point, it remains to be seen if this is just a fad or something with actual use.

I also recently watched this docu and was really surprised by it, really cool to see what people were thinking back then. Also it was funny to see Vitalik in there, but Ethereum was not even launched then. I think this year will be the boom of Crypto Social media. So let's go Hive and Leo.

I think we can make a major impact in that area. I am so looking forward to the new leo application that handles the microblogging. I think that will be a clear cut winner.
