Out-Sized Returns On Hive
Have you ever sat down and thought about the returns that you are getting on Hive? I do not mean in the token itself but, rather, all that is on here.
Let us look at the United States Bond rates.
Wow, the rates are ugly. At least the ten year is approaching 1% so there is that.
Let us look at come Certificate of Deposit Rates (CD).
Well tickle me silly and call me Shirley. How can anyone not get excited about that?
This is the benchmark being set by the banking industry. Is it any wonder why return seekers are heading to the stock market. Fixed income is trash right now.
Hive Presents A Much Different Story
Projects on Hive that are either DeFi or provide payouts are netting something much different.
Here we see a comment by @r1S2g3 about @splinterlands. Notice the returns mentioned in there.
A mid level account is generating 40% annual return. It seems with minimal effort, there is a 25% return sitting there. Sure beats the half a percent a CD will net you.
How about a bit of @brofund? @agr8buzz is pulling down near 30% of that project.
Source
Then we have the recently opened @lbi-token which still has tokens for direct sale. This only is 3 weeks old in terms of the payouts. The value started at 1 LEO. The latest report show the token is now worth 1.0183 LEO.
Source
That is a 1.83% return in 3 weeks, or 31.72% annually.
While everyone is watching tokens moon, and having fun at it, there are some gems right under our noses here on Hive.
All of these are over 30% return annually which is a tremendous amount. A return like this, over the course of a decade or more will really help to grow a portfolio. So while everyone is speculating on the next moon shot, it is good to have a few consistent earners that you are holding.
In the traditional finance world, people would be climbing over each other to get a steady 30% return on their money. On Hive, as you can see, it is rather simple. Lots of projects are doing that. Granted their track record isn't long so we will see how they perform over time.
That said, there are plenty of opportunities happening here each day. Talk to someone who knows about investing and tell that person you earn 30%-40% annually on your investments. See what that person says.
Of course, if the price of Hive moons, some of these projects could even be sitting in better position.

You're definitely right about this, while everyone is watching the moon and obviously celebrating the BTC and Eth moon we have outstanding projects that their APR is stunning, splinterlands is one for me, the hive ecosystem itself is full of gems and there's evidence of growth from these projects. Sometimes we tend to ignore his this will be instrumental to hive's development in the future.

There are lots of wonderful things happening on Hive and we will only see the number of opportunities grow.
This is going to be something that helps a lot of people change many aspects of their lives.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Exactly, I'm feeling it's important to see the baby steps towards growth. We're outrightly not perfect but then we're better than we were when hive went live in march or April. Projects on hive will be the ultimate reasons it eventually succeed.

@taskmaster4450le, That's why many are Uncaging themselves from the Centralised Monetary Systems which keeps people in Debt Trap for decades and decades. Stay blessed.
This only shows how the existing HIVE communities and Dapps are developing nicely. Since all of them use HIVE, HIVE should move up eventually. The problem with bonds is that QE has essentially forced the federal reserve to become the buyer of last resort. Since the interest rates have dropped, the price of bonds being bought has to be increased. Nobody really wants to hold bonds unless that happens, but it is unappealing to anyone but banks (they can use bonds to back their loans).

Yeah and this is the US bond market which is strong compared to the Japanese and EU bond markets which are just torched.
The central banks are really backed into a corner will few options to get out of this. Their tools are waning. The only think is to go nuclear and start buying enormous amounts of assets off the open market but that wont do any good since it is proven not to get the money to where it needs to go.

Well tickle me silly and call me Shirley.
You don't really look like a Shirley.

Just picture me with long hair, a bit of lipstick and high heels.
Oh and throw some tequila in and you could see it.

what many users are missing, especially those looking to make money quickly and easily, is the long-term vision.
Hive has so much potential but little trust from users. It is a project less than a year old but unfortunately the delay accumulated with Steem weighs heavily. We will take back all the lost land!
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
A good part of the users are not here for long term or if they are, long term has a different meaning for them.
This is a game changer in my opinion as very soon it's going to attract investors looking for a better return. In a year the userbase will look very different.

I think the users will get excited as more starts to appear. We are within a few months, 4 maybe, of things being totally different. We are going to see some big things coming out over the next few months that ought to excite a lot of people.

With compounding interest factored in, more like 37% since
1.0183^17.333 = 1.369
(Since there are 17.333 three-week intervals in a period of 52 weeks.)

True if compounded and that is accurate.
Want to be a bit more conservative.
To be accurate I should have written annualized.
Either way, a fine return for 12 months.

On the HIVE Blockchain, APY% that many projects or Communities give is many better than Printed Papar Money investment.
That can be also attract more investors.
I just am hoping on HIVE which will going to the Moon by collecting a little Cryptocurrencies.

Well the printed paper investments set a very low bar. They pay out very little.

This is definitely a game changer and we're going to see the results later. It's still early but I expect these opportunities to make a difference in onboarding.

Many brokerage companies would sell their souls for such a rate. It's good that I'm already here :)
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Isn't that the truth? It is something many overlook. A rate of return over an extended period of time will be the same as mooning.
Imagine the money manager who could advertise these returns year in and year out.

The Bro token seems very interesting for sure, Haven't heard about if until now. Great that you featured it in your post.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Glad I managed to get to the level I was after with LBI and BRO, I've just "set and forget" now so looking forward to watching the portfolio grow long term.
I also started to adopt this approach with having other "savings" style accounts outside of Hive with Celsius so that compounding effect really takes shape. Hope to have a decent looking stash when it comes to 2025 or even 2029 as the next couple of 4 year cycles complete!

Good thing is that they are not hidden or secret, if you are spending time here you can easily spot them.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yeah we almost get on a rooftop and shout them out.
Alas few listen anyway.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
In the banking world, if there was such a return it would qualify as a scam and all experts would recommend that you stay away.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
The bankers did call crypto a scam and did say to stay away from it. LOL
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Of course, because it's the biggest threat to them. Especially now that I feel the time is coming.

I would 100% agree, if the basement of those returns, the Hive price would be stable. But unfortunately it isn´t. So a 30% return is relative, if the Hive Token drops against both $ and Bitcoin like happened in 2020. I really hope that 2021 will be better.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Actually those returns, excluding the Splinterlands since I dont know, is not to the USD or anything outside. It is only to the Hive and LEO.
We can always look outside to get different numbers. Hive exploded against the Bolivar in 2020 so that provides different numbers.

Hey, don't forget https://dcity.io
My City
Let's say I earn 600 SIM/day on average. 600*365 = 219,000
I did the math and APR was 132.72727272727%
SIM is pegged to Hive (sort of) and it had held the peg well (compared to SBD/HBD) All of that for playing a fun resource management game that take few minutes a day!!!

I didn't know CD rates were this bad. They are a net loss when accounted for inflation. HIVE Power alone pays 3.41% and I earn additional 7.2% APR from curation. I could have earned so much more through simple delegation. But I prefer supporting the people who's content I like. I'm a big fan of manual curation.
I earn an additional 3.17% APR from renting @splinterlands cards out of my $ 2,410.91 collection. I delegate the cards that I don't really use. So it's not even a properly monetized rental scheme.

The movement of capitol from Banks and Bond markets is real. The Enormous growth in DeFi deposits into the billions makes it clear that the best yields are here in Cryptocurrency.
