RE: Government Jobs Are Overrated || And Why I Don't Depend On Them

That is true, whatever or in whomever you invest your time in, should be worth it, as time is priceless. You can't get lost time back. And indeed, Hive has shown that there's a correlation between how much time you're investing and the returns. Of course there are other factors, like learning and applying what you learned. Learn from mistakes.

Hmm... What you're saying about the results from the huge amount of employees in government posts, is now rearing it's head in Suriname. The country is in debt and has to look for ways where to get the funds from to pay the government workers. Economists and even politicians have been warning for the effects of this for decades, but no government has done anything about it, because they were/are also part of the "problem".

The general rule is that people in the private sector have to create wealth to get wealth. People in the public sector gain their wealth through power.

Yes, there are a few exceptions. There are cases where people in the public sector create wealth and people in the private sector gain money though manipulation.

However, that general rule determines the path of the economy at large. As such people are wise to limit the growth of government and should encourage private sector growth.

Wisdom comes by studying the world and realizing that one can find good and bad in all systems. It is never absolute. The absolutes of total anarchy and totalitarian governments lead societies to ruin.

And the above mentioned is what I was trying to say. There is way too much under control of the government, even companies that should've been privatized like a airline company for instance. Because of government's and political influence, the company has been hollowed out and at the brink of ruin, which is unfortunate.

Yeah, no system is the perfect system.
