SaaS Companies Have Been Top Performers

The tech rally continues and one of the best ways to gain exposure to the potential upside is by investing in Software as a Service companies (SaaS).

The SaaS business model has attracted so much capital over the years the the average public company has gone from trading at 4 times sales to 15 times sales. The most expensive SaaS company to date is Zoom (ZM) at over 100 times sales. (Note on historical valuations: during the 2000 tech bubble it was common for companies to be in bubble territory at just 10 times sales.)

The huge out performance of these shares has been a combination of rapid revenue growth (which is recurring with a high renewal rate) and a rapid expansion of the revenue multiple that investors are willing to pay.
