Hand-poured Silver Bar No.57

avatar

People are too involved in tedious, meaningless things and stuff than saving for the future. Fine.

Should I tell family and friends?

I'm pretty passionate about stacking metals. And so I'd naturally want share this passion! I want to tell my friends, and bring them along for the ride.

But you have to really be careful talking to people about silver and gold. If your strategy is to keep a suitcase full of cash in the house, would you tell your friends and family about the suitcase full of cash? Of course not! You're literally inviting somebody to try to find it. If you are telling people around you that you are accumulating a large amount of silver and gold, they'll come and try to find it!

Really, family and friends?

When I first was into stacking I was so excited, I tried having a discussion about silver and gold with friends.

They look at you like you are out of your mind. You may encounter some who would even give you a condescending look. They are really dismissive about this stuff. They are so conditioned and convinced that the stock market is the way to go, and they will resist and fight you.

There is a part of you that wants to win a debate, and wants to be right, and wants to be the first guy out there. But you know what, it's not worth it. They are not going to get it.

The best thing you can do is to channel your enthusiasm in places like YouTube, or Instagram, or even Hive, where you can share your ideas and your goals with like-minded people.

We pick up from where we left off with a second Metals Mafia Logo bar. This time it is hand-poured by @silver-vessel.

Metals Mafia Logo, P Round

This one is a round with very smooth edges... about 1/2 inch thick.

It is 4 ounces even, .999 fine silver. The maker's mark is stamped which is a sailing vessel, and P, meaning prototype.

The two Metals Mafia Logo, a square #1 and a round P. There is no prototype square Metals Mafia logo bar.

Pretty!

I started documenting my hand-poured silver bars late last year about 6 months ago.

Never show your stack, when it comes to money people just go nuts and lose all sense and it can make you a target. A good safe is also a wise investment,I love how chunky that bar and cool info on the P for prototype.

They sure can, lol!

Both bars are chunky, both bars have an interesting appeal. The square one is high relief while the round one is carved-in.
Yeah, and a P is a prototype. The ever first pour is called a prototype, meant to check for errors or to see if the mold is okay for the succeeding productions.

Love that hand poured silver round, beauty, and the bar is pretty sweet too! You ever considered privately minting?

I think it would be super satisfying to work with metal, especially wax castings, either jewelry like rings or custom rounds..

Everyone has their interests that make other people’s eyes gloss over in boredom. And a lot of them (at least in terms of collectibles) can be a great investment that no one else gets.

Just keep trucking along. 🙃

Silver Vessel did a great job on the MM Logo Round, I still follow him and see some of his latest silver pieces he has on IG. And the great memories on YouTube as well.

Always, with love and the Passion 🤗 🌺 💖

I like @silversaver888!!😀 One half inch thick, and four ounces of precious Silver Nice my friend!!!
You are very correct about trying to convince people to stack, I can't get my kids to stack....so sad!
All I hear is the stock market, I remember when I would give Silver for Christmas gifts to our grown and Married kids . I don't think they really cared....
Keep stacking my friend, we can't change people.....

There are those who will get it, and others who won't!
There are other's who will pick it up and go gung-ho for a while a quickly loose interest.
And there are others that will slowly and surely stack.

Keep stacking, @silvertop 😀

Ahh...you are very correct @silversaver888! I had a friend at work that would buy Silver every Month. When I retired ....he stopped buying Silver so sad!

I so know exactly what you are talking about! Most people don't realize that you can own gold or silver for some reason. They often look at you like you've grown two heads or something! I don't talk about it much except here.

Those are VERY nice chunks of shiny sis! I like them! I bet they feel good in your hand as well! Thanks for sharing and enjoy them! Take care sis; hugs and kisses!🤗😘🌸💕

I tried telling my best friend once in the past, and usually, she picks up. When she didn't, I stopped, talk about other things, and moved on. This was some 5 or six years ago when I just started. I showed a silver American Eagle. When her eyes did not sparkle at the sight of silver, I did not pursue the conversation anymore.

Hugs and kisses sis 🥰🌺🤙!

It's the 'sparkle' of the eyes that gives it away, lol! I get it; we've shown some folks who have been almost afraid to hold a gold coin. It's an interesting reaction. Take care sis; hugs and kisses!🤗😘💕🌸

Hand-poured silver is wonderful! You will never tire of them!
They can be pricey especially if they are made by a popular hand-pourer.
