Not too long ago, I wrote a post about what my financial goals for the year were. I mentioned in that post that part of my plan was to sell the DEC that I earn playing Splinterlands and use that Hive to power up another one of my accounts.

That's changed just a little bit, though. Recently, I started playing Rising Star and dCity as well as Splinterlands. I know I'm very late to the game (pun intended) but better late than never.

My new plan

So now, I'm going to still sell the DEC, but I'm going to use those funds to further my progress in Rising Star and dCity. I'm playing Rising Star as @scootermcd and I'm playing dCity as @ow-my-balls. Why? Why not! That's why.

I've been writing about my progress in both games and receiving decent upvotes. Especially for Rising Star. I've been writing some longer, somewhat-fictional blog posts that are from the perspective of my fake singer-songwriter persona. It's kind of fun.

Side note:

There's a fake band in my fake town called Geoff & The Croutons that I write about. There's a story behind that one. One time, back in the 1990s, I was in a music store with my bandmates and we were talking to a rep from Gibson Guitars. He asked what our band was called, and we had a policy of just kind of making up fake band names when older people asked, and our guitarist at the time told him that we were called "Geoff and the Croutons." I've always remembered that, even 25 or so years later.

So, yeah, the new plan is to gain some HP by posting more on these accounts instead of focusing on powering up just one account. The new plan will be to buy some HP for that account with cash when I have it available.

I'm doing fairly well in two Splinterlands tournaments right now, so that should help my progress if I get some winnings from those.
