My Coin Collection: Good Old Drachmas - The 1 Drachma - Paul I
The posts to come are covering older 1 and 2 drachma coins that circulated from around 1950 to around 1980.
This one is featuring the one drachma coin with a picture of the Crowned arms (shield with cross) with the defenders of the Crown and the portrait of King Paul I, who reigned during 1947-1964.
The lettering
Obverse:

1 ΔΡΑΧΜΗ = 1 DRACHMA
Reverse:
ΠΑΥΛΟΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ = PAUL KING OF THE GREEKS

The coin
Another standard circulation coin from the Third Modern Drachma coin period which circulated from 1954 to 1965. It is made of copper-nickel, weighs 3.91 gr, has a diameter of 20.8 mm and a thickness of 1.5 mm.
