Financial Goals 2021 - My Plan - Earn and Learn

A Little Back Story
Serious investing of any kind has really been off the table for me over the past few years. I have made a lot of down sizing life decisions so I could lead a more balanced life. Now with some retirement benefits coming in I am starting to look at crypto currency as my investment strategy. I don't think real estate or stocks are feasible for me and I'm not real keen on those anymore anyway.
Finding Crypto
Up to this point I haven't really been a serious crypto investor. When I started content creating in early 2018 it was just a way to possibly make money. Around mid 2019 I invested in the newly formed SPI project but I still really had little knowledge of crypto or even how to obtain some. In early 2020 I finally had some extra fiat and bought myself some BTC. The last couple months of 2020 I was acquiring a lot of LEO and LBI (SPI for LEO).
2021 and Beyond
To start 2021 I will probably keep on the LEO/LBI path for a month or so and see where things are going. I will probably keep adding small amounts of BTC and ETH throughout the year hoping for the moon one day on those. Of course I will continue earning, curating and staking Hive/LEO. Plus I also have several other small stakes in coins that I will continue to keep an eye on.
I don't really see myself setting a long term plan or set of goals for this year. Too much of that in my previous life. :) As 2021 continues I will be reading Leo Finance and educating myself on the myriad of new projects and investments coming around. I will have some fiat and liquid crypto available so I don't have any FOMO. Mostly I just see myself enjoying the ride and learning to make smart investments. I'm not sure I know enough right now to make a very detailed plan for the year. Earn and learn will be my plan. Maybe more detailed planning will take place in 2022. :)
Starting to understand the power of blockchain technology over the last few months has me very excited. I can envision a lot of great things in the future for myself and all those involved. We could be at the start of a world changing event. So while I have been looking for change and a better way for years, stumbling into crypto investing could be the very thing I was looking for. Here's to a profitable 2021!

It's all clear that you have grown in the crypto world since you started in 2018.
I think you should reconsider this even though you might have had bad experiences in your previous life. Long term plan is always good cause you will benefit on the long run.
I guess I have some vague ideas of a long term plan (earn and learn, LEO/LBI, some BTC/ETH), I'm just not ready to put down any hard numbers... i.e. x amount of certain coins by a certain date. I'm looking at this year as more of a data gathering phase where I will see more of what my capabilities are both financially and personally. Then I will probably make some more structured plans for 2022. I am really enjoying the whole journey right now and don't want to pressure or rush myself with goals I may not be able to achieve. I've set myself up in a pretty laid back, leisure lifestyle and I kind of want to keep it that way. :)

question... what are you doing with that BTC and ETH? Are you keeping it on an exchange or on an interest earning option or on a hardware wallet?

A little of all of that.
Some on Coinbase/Coinbase Pro where I bought it. Some in my Atomic wallet.
Some on BlockFi earning interest. I also get a $35 dollar bonus there in mid January. I will probably look elsewhere at the end of January. The interest I accrue doesn't go into my account until the end of the month. I will probably look into Nexo.
I was ready to get a Ledger wallet when I read about the breach so now I am reevaluating where to go with that.
Don't like to have all my eggs in one basket. :)

Earning and learning is quite a simple way to go, this was me through out 2018 - 2020, I also learnt to save more during those periods, this year wouldn't be much different, more earning, learning, investing, saving and trying to stay alive. Hopefully you will achieve great results.

The best part is I am really enjoying every aspect of this adventure. If I can achieve the financial abundance I need to survive and maintain my happiness while doing it, then the future will be bright indeed. Who knows, it may someday even exceed my wildest dreams. :)

My story is somewhat similar to your story, I like that you are not frustrated in the future and that you want to take things calmly and confidently, in a natural order!

With all the uncontrollable things going on around me, this is something I can control and that does give me calm. My confidence grows as I learn more but over all I have developed a more "it is what it is" philosophy on life. :)

Yes i mean life is what happens when you make a plan.
I tried to make some smart trades and take some airdrops - failed badly :-(
Now i'm trying to hodl more BTC and of course try some of the Crypto Saving methods which are out there ( CRO/NEXO).
Also i like my staking coins....
I will look further in the DEFI market - but as of now i don't know enough to feel comfortable to use it.

Nexo is something I need to research more. I have some BTC/ETH with BlockFi but I think I will be leaving them at the end of January.
As a relative newbie to crypto, DEFI is not something I am ready to jump into right now. Luckily I have invested quite a bit of my LEO in the LBI (@lbi-token) project and they will be going down that road at some point.

I can agree to these numbers. I also feel the same way with stocks and real-estate I don't think that's for me, Crypto changed my life and I feel like it offers so much more than previous world money makers.
I also invested a nice chunk of fiat in 2020 building with various tokens sadly I missed out on SPI's low prices but EddieEarners are there as well I was able to obtain a few.
Retirement and enjoying the crypto live style, that's it right there, curating on LEO is slowly becoming super profitable.

If the Hive and LEO numbers want to go higher I will gladly take the L on my predictions. :)
SPI was my first investment and has done remarkably well. I'm hoping LBI will follow suit. Of course I have a few Eddies too. :)
My hope would be that crypto can help even out some of the wealth inequality in the world. Get to a point where everyone is able to at least meet their basic needs for survival. Maybe that's a dream for the future, but in the mean time I will keep doing my small part to make it reality by posting, curating and commenting.

Learning and earning is the smart way to grow and also the fun aspect of it. We are all learning and this cannot be rushed. Just by being here we are ahead of everyone else and must be doing something right. I missed out on spinvest and was never going to miss out on LBI once I knew what it was.

That's a good plan, similar to mine. Have been postponing putting together some numbers and have only done it because of this challenge. My strategy is do everything you can and then you have no regrets.
Learning is as important as earning for me as the crypto would is new to everyone to some degree and one can never know enough.
I'm also about to buy a cold wallet very soon.

When I started writing this post I realized I didn't really have any hard numbers I wanted to confine myself too. For example I was going to stake about 1000 LBI... I now have over 1500 and am looking to add more. For me the landscape changes to quickly to set hard numbers. I learn something new or a fresh project comes along and all my plans change. :)
Do you have any suggestions on a cold wallet?

Lol, tell me about it. A couple of days ago I posted my plan and already investing in a token that was not planned.
About cold wallets, I've been looking around to see what is available and what's recommended. I came across two, Ledger Nano X and TREZOR. I could buy an Ledger Nano S as that's available at a good price and even though Ledger Nano X is the newest version recommended, Nano S would be ok for me as I'm not on IOS and highly unlikely to buy iPhone in the near future.
What about you? Do you have any specific cold wallet in your mind?

I was going to go with the Ledger Nano S then I read about the data breach of personal information of users (email, phone #). Of course that probably makes new users data a little safer going forward. So I was going to look more at the Trezor. Probably end up deciding between those two.

I've read about the data breach and the leaking of the data that took place in December. That's why the Ledger Nano S was so cheap two days ago, had 72% discount and now it's sold out.
I need to look for another solution.
