Passive Income - Gaming as an entry into Hive

Where Ya Been?

Lately, I have not been blogging much, I have mainly been uploading videos for the #CineTV Network, but I felt like I needed to do a post on something I have been pursuing myself lately, in case anyone else wanted to take a similar tactic in their own investment plans.

New to Hive? Not many followers? Try this...

One of the easiest things a person new to the Hive ecosystem can do to help improve the payouts from their posts is to play games on Hive. Sound crazy? Well, not really. There are several blockchain games on Hive that will upvote your posts automatically, just for playing and being above a certain level in the game. One of the easiest to get started on in my opinion is a game called Holy Bread. In this game, you "Campaign" on quests and in an arena to level up characters and earn "bread." After reaching a high enough level, you will receive an automatic upvote from the Holy Bread team every time you post on Hive.

Longer Term

One of my favorite games in the Hive ecosystem is CryptoBrewMaster, and I will admit, I did not care for it when I first started. The amount of time involved to get started seemed to be too much for me, but after trying it for a few days, I was hooked. Now, I am deeply invested in the game and am able to easily create income there any time I want. One of the best ways I have found to do this is with the "Enhancement Cards" which are available in the game. With these cards, you can "upgrade" the materials, for free, that the other players need to brew better beer. Just selling those is easily enough to provide an income from renting say, the water tower for the day.

Well Known...

There are many people that are more able to speak about SplinterLands game-play than I am, but one thing I will talk about is the upcoming upgrade and ongoing "land" sale in the game. As someone that finds the idea of virtual "Real Estate" extremely interesting, and also as someone that has invested in several of these projects, I have to say I am looking forward to seeing how this works out. Using existing character cards as "labor" to work the land is genius, in my opinion, and I can't wait to see it work!

Not So Well Known...

The devs at #CBM told me about another game available on #Hive that is not really advertised anywhere, but to me at least, is super cool! The game is called Ocean Planet and it is a post-apocalyptic game where the earth has been flooded. Think Kevin Costner in "Water World," and you will have some idea of what the game appears to be. Unfortunately, there is not much as far as tutorials for gameplay. There has been an upgrade since I began playing, but all of the cards are yet to be activated. Basically, the game consists of "mining" from your basic truck-boat to get supplies from the ocean floor. You can also have a chance to get crates after the last upgrade, which can be opened in town at the cost of ten Cryptex, the in-game token. As I said, there is not much on this game that I have found as of yet, but it is easy to see the plans they have for expansion just from the game itself and the sheer number of inactive areas as of now.

Rock & Roll

Of course, if you have been on Hive for any amount of time, you will likely be aware of the game Rising Star, where you make your way through the world of Rock Super Stardom by doing various missions. I have been playing this game daily for a while now, and I have finally gotten to the stage where I can begin to unlock band members. More important than that bragging, and for the purpose of this post, there are now new ways to make income in Rising Star. Now, there are #NFT albums being sold, and you can stake your #StarBits to earn a portion of a reward pool for every album sold. This is an easy way to earn passive income, while still going after those dreams of fame.

One Other - Not Hive

There is one other game I would like to take the chance to mention that is not a Hive based game, nor do I know about income, but since all it takes is an email registration at this point to get you an NFT Spaceship for free, I figure I will mention it and let you decide if you want a cool, free, NFT Space ship sitting in your very own hanger, or not. The game is called FarSite and as you can see from the picture below, the ship is pretty cool. As of now, it is just in a hanger, but you can move it around and earn upgrades for referrals before the game launch. We shall see what comes of it, but it looks pretty cool to me...

There Ya Go!

So, that is what I have been up to, at least here on Hive when it comes to gaming. I mean, I have a few others I play, but these are the ones that I see the most potential for income in at this time. #Rabona is fun, but it is hard to train a team to really profit from turning players into NFTs at this time, and #DCity, well, I am not happy with the current tax situation there at all right now so I am leaving them out of this post. Yes, I play #HashKings as well, and there is a lot of potential for income there as well, but there are a lot of things that need to be ironed out yet too, and that is why I did not talk much about them. Please, if you know of any other gaming opportunities here on #Hive that I have not mentioned, let me know in the comments so I can check it out!
