Who are you doing it for?
What is your motivation?

Who are you doing it for?
This is one of my favorite sayings.
So many people these days are killing themselves for more money. Working more hours, to buy more things, to keep up with other people that are doing the exact same.
Racing towards death by consumerism. The biggest problem is society. People are conditioned to keep trying to move up the levels in lifestyle and have been conditioned to see that success is measured in things.
How much you can buy, determines your status in life.
If I can buy a new outfit for every day. A new car every year and a new house that can fit all of my stuff then i have won at life.
If you can do this from your passive income then i might agree. I still don't want that life as buying stuff doesn't interest me but i can appreciate the level that you have risen to.
You have the financial freedom to do what you want and to buy what you want without becoming a slave to society then you have won at life.
The problem is for the majority of people that are chained to a job that they hate, a life that is killing them and pressure to keep going higher up the ladder. You might see the nice house and car but if it means working 60 hours a week for 40 years then is it really winning?
having to log onto a work computer every night before bed just to stay on top of the job. Missing out on the important things in life to buy more things?
I would say that you are losing.
And for who.
For what your neighbors think.
Your colleagues.
Your family.
Who are you really doing it for?
Did you really grow up and get to this stage dreaming of being a cooperate slave that is tied to their job and their mortgage.
At twenty years of age that was the nightmare.
The worst possible outcome.
So what changes in the meantime. What gets people all over the world to do it.
There are other options out there. You might have to make some choices but is your freedom really worth the designer clothes or the latest phone?
How did the marketers get under peoples skin so much in the past few years.
I know that my dream is financial freedom. If i have to buy generic clothes and stay away form amazon then that that is a sacrifice that i am more than happy to make to be able to golf on a Tuesday or go walking with my gf during the week. Spend time with my friends and enjoy my life.
It's not easy and it's not for everybody but making these choices might feel hard in the short run but once you can change your mindset and not give a fuck about what your neighbors think then your life will be all the better for it.
Do it for yourself and not for anybody else. What would you like your life to look like rather than what others look at your life like.

My dream is also financial freedom...every week I get messages from friends telling me to cash out, they still don’t get it, still don’t get me....I’m committed to shaping up to be versatile in this space, for as long as it’ll take, this is the future of our financial world, I’m not only learning the lingos I’m also learning mastery of these protocols, these systems, certainly the ideas and experiences I’ll pick up will be definitely worth something even without crypto. Then I’m honing my writing skills along the way, I’m not here to build for two years, I’m here to build for life, I’m here to learn to sustain myself through applying the 1% of the tools that work in this space I’m here to have a life adventure. I’m here for me first. That’s why they don’t get it. Maybe they think I’m doing crypto for clout. 🤷

Crypto is a lifestyle and yes it is risky.
It could all drop away in the morning if the wrong rules come into play or the chain falls apart but i doubt it. It's a small risk compared to the benefits of staying here.
We could all cash out today nd take a nice profit that would keep us going for a while. But then your money stops working for you. I could take all of my hive and buy that fancy car to show off to people that i have some money but when that small feeling of satisfaction wears off i ill have no income left and need to go back to work.
Even at that i cant go backwards so i would need to work even harder to move up the next level again and get a better car. Then a house to match my lifestyle and the clothes and holidays to fill out the picture. It's a lifetime of debt and struggles.
Instead i have cut down my living costs. Cash out enough crypto to get me to the end of every month and put the rest to work earning even more. Every month that number goes even higher and at some stage it could be entirely passive to survive and then just put in extra work when i want a bit extra.
They are only thinking short term goals instead of setting yourself up for life. That is the difference between the ones who will have nothing and the ones who will have everything later on.

Financial freedom would obviously be awesome, but I actually love my job. I truly do. I don't like my workplace that much though.. But I can't really imagine a life without my job, or at least working roughly the same way I do today.
Working less or working for free, I don't know. I don't want to work 50-60 hours per week though, which I am often doing nowadays.

That's exactly the point of financial freedom. Not that you have to give up your job but that you choose to do it because you love it. You're not forced to be there for the money or have to compromise on anything because you need it.
You have enough money regardless that you make your own life choices, whatever those might be. Including where to live, how to spend your time, what you want to accomplish in life.
I would love to volunteer in a dog shelter if money was no object. Put my time to good use if i didn't spend so much of it trying to get money.
That would be possible if i was financially free.

So, all I need is basically FU-money and a better place to live in. Then I'm set. :D
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Pretty much.
That's the dream.

Let's push Leo to new heights and get some of the juicy FU-money then, shall we? :D

As stake holders we can F-U everybody if the site takes off properly.
Who needs real jobs when we can make stupid comments online and earn an income.
It's a bold new world.

lol. That is true.
We have an awesome opportunity here. We just have to put in some effort for the epic lift off.

Time is the most limited resource. I'm hustling to reclaim it. Money gives you freedoms no matter how little you need it's still something you have to get. I want to retire early with enough to do what I want when I want within reason.
Very true. Time is very, very valuable and if you can to the point where you are spending it they way that you really want to spend it then you have won at life.
It would be very hard to accomplish at my age but i'm hoping that it can be done in the next 5-10 years. Especially if hive reaches the $10 range then it would make all of the difference.

As young millennial I feel you. I need a few of my moon shots to pay off.
Well said! Society is going crazy and everyone seems to be competing for top of the trash heap 🤣 I've done the whole 60 to 70 hour work week. It's not fun and definitely no way to live a life. At least I didn't enjoy it. Now, I'm more about doing things for me. I work less, try to work smarter, and I'm more concerned about rewarding life experiences over financial rewards. Awesome post!
Most people have done it too. It's not a good way to live over along period of time. And for what? More shiny objects that the internet told us we need.
Work smarter, not harder.
Seeing how much you really need every month and focus on that. The rest is smokescreen and mirrors. People are paid large sums of money to trap us in a consumer cycle and get the money out of our pockets.
I did it myself but decided a long way out that i wanted to buy a house and it needed to be done. Managed that few years ago and then set up a plan to quit and live more sustainably. It timed in nicely with the latest bull market and gave me a chance to get away.
Now i'm just trying to set up ways to stay out of that game going forward.

This is exactly where I'm at right now too!
Self, Financial freedom and after that's done to help and support others who I feel deserve it and just need that extra push. I think one of my favorite things to do in life is search and find talent and support it unselfishly.

I am doing it for Financial Freedom. I am fine being a minimalist and just having enough to survive. In a way, I actually wouldn't mind moving out to a cheaper place when I have everything settled so long as I had food, utilities, and internet ready for me.

I actually enjoy not having things or spending money. Not in a cheap way. There is always money for holidays or nights out but just looking at things and saying. I don't need this. It won't add anything to my life.
Never working again. That will add a lot to my life.

That depends.. is it the newest iphone?? :P -- j/k (i am totally NOT like that.. ur way sounds just perfect IMHO)
no Amazon though? my 17 y/o daughter would hate to ever support Jeff at all, but I can usually always find things on there for much cheaper than I can find them here (prices in hawaii are way expensive) or even on ebay. (i do always compare both those, and often craigslist too, if i think it might be on there)
I listened to an ebook about the materialistic/consumer way we are blasted with and led to follow.. it's a never ending cycle where when u are a kid, just some candy might appease u.. but as u grow u need more (and more expensive) things like cars and houses.. no thanks. :(
Amazon and Ebay are fine when you want a specific item and then go online to find the best value.
the danger is going on there for a look and being bombarded with deals that you really don't need but are designed to get you spending money.
Some Ebooks can be very interesting and you will learn a lot by listening to different topics and becoming aware of what is going on around you.
Knowing is half the battle.

yes. learned that lesson from GI Joe back when I was still a kid.. :)
On here for me financial freedom is the goal first off. This ecosystem in particular allows for the breeding of financial growth mechanisms that will actually shape one’s horizons and decisions especially when it comes to financial and economic lifestyle. Furthermore, my motivation on here comes from the diverse different accounts on here that have over the years been able to built reputable portfolios and inturn rub off their dexterity on most of us new users through mind blowing and inspiring articles .

I got out of retail for those very reasons. Now my job is pretty much 9-5 and I enjoy it and I get paid well to do it now. I don't post on my days off, put it that way . 😄
I did the 60 hour weeks and decided to get out of this life when the kids were born
as my bosses were all divorced and their kids hated them. I felt I did my time as they say and got a nice number with little stress because of the hard work I put in in my 20's. I grew up in a house with not much money and fire fighting with bills so I always swore my kids would never have a financial worry and be set for college. So this is my motivation to work although I am envious of your situation playing golf on a Tuesday. 😃
