First week with FARMER - More than 300%/ Year but....
One week ago I bought cards for 600 Hive (about 60 USD) at the new game at Hive - Farmfarmer.farm. The rules are pretty easy to understand - but the economic has been more intresting then I first thougt.
The guy behind this game is aggroed - I think you know who that is at this point.
1 Buy cards/miners
2 Every hour 4,5 FARM will be distruted in a lottery depend of how much % you have of the pool
3 Every hour 40 FARMGOV will be distrubuted in a lotter depend of how much staked FARM you have staked.
So just now you can buy FARM at Hive-Engine and the price went up as a rocket first week. So much that I felt I wanted to sell 0,5 for 8 HIVE.
ONE WEEK 2,5 FARM
I invested about 60 USD. I have in one week get 2,5 FARM = about 5 USD.
So IF this continue I will have 280 USD in a year.
OF COURSE - this will not happen but this week it has been a marvelous ROI.
Why will the price go down?
If we look closer to the rules it is obviosly that the demand of FARM in the beginning of the game is very high. Lets say I buy all FARM that I can find in the market. Then I will have a BIG % of all staked FARM. Because it has not yet been mined so much FARM.
Only few FARM result in even fewer FARMGOV. So far...
With a big bag of hive I think it is possible to take a really good position and get a lot of FARMGOV. To keep a big % of the FARM-pool until it is more FARM in the market.
I can not see any other reason why people want to buy FARM for that price - when they can buy miners and then wait.....wait....and hope for luck. (Like bitcoin-mining)

AND - I think I had a big potion of luck this week getting 2,5 FARM.
AND - A market with over 300% Annual Year Return is a overheat market, but this time I think there is a real reason why.
I invested 600 HIVE. SO far I have got back 8 by selling 0,5 FARM. Thats one step closer to get my money, and some more back.

Congratulations on getting this much return for investing only 600 HIVE. I think, this wouldn't be the case this week (I wish it not to be the case, though, I have invested some of the HIVE as well), players/miners are increasing and with them the possibility/probability of getting $FARM will reduce.
You need to keep investing in this type of games, meaning, what you are earning from the game, you have to invest a portion of that back in the game, just like you explained above.
That said, I think, this game has a lot of potential and will gain more attention and involvement in the coming days. IMHO, there are two reasons for that. First, the calculations and how the game function. Second, this is first of its kind game on HIVE.

I am curious to see what they add to the game. That is really going to establish the value going forward.
These is not something that is a one time deal from what I understand. Thus, there is a chance even more value is added to the FARM token.

Yes. Aggroed told that it will be one more game in some weeks. That game you can use a lot of tokens - including farm. So there is one way more to use it.
I totally agree with you.
Initially, I invested in the game because of aggroed, I know with him on the steering wheel I am not going to loose the money, which is not the case with most of the current farming/mining platforms of the category.
This game has a clever design, a cycle (an interesting and successful formula). You bought NFTs, stake them, mine $FARM, stake $FARM, get $FARMGOV, $FARMGOV can be used to increase the percentage of mining $FARM.
This will reduce the number of $FARM tokens going out of the game (If investors really want to keep getting some good earning from the game) and, ultimately, will increase its value, as has already happened in the first week.
Since the number of already launched NFTs are limited, small investors buy them and could get a profit by selling them after keeping them for some time and waiting for the price to increase, which is already happening with the NFTs in the in-game market. There could be other options to get profit for the small investors which are not in front of us right now, they are still adding more features and developing the game, if I've understood correctly from aggroed's last post. I don't think, they'll increase the number of these NFTs any further, launch of new NFTs, that's another case.
To increase the interest of investors/players, they might introduce, breeding in the game, IMO, a type of breeding is already in play, though.
Feeling it real interesting and fun, and looking forward to see more updates (keeping their track record in mind, I am sure, those will be more exciting). I don't know if these updates would take some time because according to the aggroed's post, A ton of things happening for Hive-Engine- Alpha for Dswap? Governance goes live? New game? Packs coming to HE?, a lot is happening behind the scene.

This project is off to a good start but will require a lot of followup to make this viable.
