The Problem With Cash

Recently I had a banker cousin warn me an my family to start keeping cash at hand.

Banks are going to start closing and it will be difficult to get your cash out once they are

She was right, lots of banks are closed or having reduced hours.

I did the "smart mom" thing and listened to her. It did not feel like the time to put any extra money into crypto, it did not feel like a good time to send extra payments to loans, it did not feel like a good time to pay anything that was not going to charge me interest if I did not pay.

It felt like a good time to hold some good ole fiat.

And I chose to hold it in cash.

What a mistake that was

What my banker cousin failed to understand, along with me who took her advice so sagely, was that it was not just banks who were going to close, most everything was set to close.

Heck, I can't even go to the grocery store.

(I mean, I can but what the heck for, I have everything I need, and the stuff that is running out is not well stocked anyway)

So now I have this cash at hand

And no way to use it.

The income checks dried up so the account has not gotten replenished and now the internet, water, and electricity bill are due.

Payment centers are closed, we are being asked to pay stuff online, but how do we get that digital money, if we have that cash at hand.

I guess I should have gotten 1's so I could use them as toilet paper

no worries though - everyone is giving payment extensions and those bills I have are considered "essential" so they won't be getting cut off anytime soon, and from what I understand there will be no late fees or similar problems involved.

I do wish however, that this fiat I have in hand in the form of cash was digitized so that I could do an online target run.

With this many kids, I don't like being so low on shampoo.

Anyone want to sell he home-made shampoo that I can pay for with steem or hive?
