Less than three hours ago, Daniel James Larimer vacated his position as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of block.one. block.one might sound foreign to some but they are the company that founded EOS, EOS VC, VOICE and EOSIO software.

The news might come as a shock to many because of Dan's heavy involvement in setting up Block.one. few people like me are not shocked because this is not the first time Dan walked away from projects he helped build.

Three years ago, he resigned as the co-founder of steemit.inc. the news came as shock to everyone and people wondered what might have triggered his actions. Well, only he has the answers to the question. His reply of "the challenge of taking on another project" doesn't sound true. That lead to the spread of so many rumors of what might have happened.

It's unclear why he abandons the project even though those projects might have a bright future. But he always leaves when the projects encounter a stumbling block.

EOS was supposed to rival the Ethereum blockchain but it has flopped and failed woefully. EOS ICO remains the biggest in the history of ICOs. Accumulating over 4 billion dollars. The EOS blockchain has not delivered on its promise and it might be the reason for Dan resigning.

Dan made it known that he has resigned from block.one since 30th of December of 2020 but he is just making that information public less than 3 hours ago on his blog on voice. On his Voice blog, Dan said

I have worked with Brendan and block.one for the past 4 years and am proud of the EOSIO software I was able to create and launch with the help of an extremely talented group of engineers. Alas, all good things must come to an end. As of December 31, 2020 I have resigned my position as CTO of block.one.

Dan dio a conocer que renunció a block.one desde el 30 de diciembre de 2020, pero solo está haciendo pública esa información hace menos de 3 horas en su blog sobre voz. En su blog Voice, Dan dijo

He trabajado con Brendan y block.one durante los últimos 4 años y estoy orgulloso del software EOSIO que pude crear y lanzar con la ayuda de un grupo de ingenieros extremadamente talentoso. At the moment it's unknown if Dan will be taking on another project immediately but as a workaholic that he is, it's expected that he creates something new soon. In his words, Daniel James Larimer said;

I will continue on my mission to create free market, voluntary solutions for securing life, liberty, property, and justice for all. I do not know exactly what is next, but I am leaning toward building more censorship resistant technologies. I have come to believe that you cannot provide “liberty as a service” and therefore I will focus my attention on creating tools that people can use to secure their own freedom.

Por el momento no se sabe si Dan asumirá otro proyecto de inmediato, pero como es un adicto al trabajo, se espera que cree algo nuevo pronto. En sus palabras, Daniel James Larimer dijo;

Continuaré con mi misión de crear soluciones voluntarias y de libre mercado para asegurar la vida, la libertad, la propiedad y la justicia para todos. No sé exactamente qué es lo próximo, pero me inclino por construir tecnologías más resistentes a la censura.
