Captain @edthecanadian & another 2019 Edition Silver Steem Round

” Blackbirds tend to like Shiny Things” ~ The Bloody Raven

Sorry @stokjockey I must interrupt my original #piratesunday post for another breaking, earth shattering update in my Steem round saga. My purchased 2019 Steem Round had arrived, but actually came before @raybrockman’s replacement silver round arrived.
This was my Plan A before the Writing contest.

The Story

Back in the fall of 2019 the news was out and orders were being taken for the new 2019 Edition Steem Round and with my Chequing account on fumes at the time I could afford one round. I would normally get two to avoid my kids fighting over it in the future but believe me I will be better prepared next year for the 2020 Edition.

1
Seems a bit heavier than a round and COA.

The part that makes me grind my fangs is the expensive shipping at about $12 USD would work out to a zillion Canadian pesos minimum. Then add that to the awkwardly spotty delivery service of Canada Post and it’s sinister counterpart, The CBSA (Canadian Border Services Agency) should they be short on the payroll these loathsome creatures will open your mail to protect us from ourselves at an added price plus GST for the service.
You get my drift.

1
Oh, I see. Surprises!

I wanted at least one of these so I was going have to give in when suddenly a musical action score started out of nowhere when a Swashbuckling hero in the style of Errol Flynn swung over to my side, removed his red and white Tricorn toque, bowed with a flourish and kissed my hand and said, “I heard you are in distress my Lady, what may Captain @edthecanadian do for you?”

P

Bilge rats, my 17th century dress was at the cleaners. Like a Gentleman, Ed offered to help me circumvent the extraneous expense of shipping.

So his plan was to buy a bunch of his own plus one extra for me and then send it regular postage inside Canada. So in my dumb blonde moment I didn’t realize I was set up for a surprise. We’re SSG after all!

The Note!
1

And that had to be first.

Now as far as sports are concerned I’m not exactly Hockey savvy. I usually took my kids to Soccer camps because I had a decent experience in Soccer, the Europeans refer to as Football, and I played goal at High school so I can wear a black uniform and handle the ball with my hands, pretty easy huh?

A pair of Autographed Hockey Cards

As for my kids, it was by far cheaper on my bank account as a soccer Mum. I did sit in on a professional hockey game one time and appreciate its graceful brutality. But my kids are still young and we’ll see if they will pick up interest in hockey yet.

In my local establishment, most of the time its talk about Hockey and the Stanley Cup-less Vancouver Canucks professional hockey team, whereas my local sports bar conversations usually center around, “You think Scotland will be able to field a team for the next FIFA cup?”
Equally bewildering, “How do you think Brazil will rank in the next World Cup?”

1
Grant Jennings and Lyle Odelein are Saskatchewanians

Okay so this makes me culturally a so-so Canadian rather than a true proper hockey crazed Canadian. But I do have a few unopened packs of Hockey Cards saved and a newspaper from the day they were born. To be given on an appropriate birthday to come.

Cue in this mental scene of me on those white figure skates.
On a park lake ice.
Holding a hockey stick in the manner of a crutch as not to slip and fall.
A puck slides passed me.
I not move a muscle.
I'm an embarrassment on Ice.

P

Then there’s my attempt at talking Economics around the pub, most my SSG friends here know where I’m going with this subject whereas at the pub, its the rolling of eyes. "Ha ha, Gold and silver as an Investment?"

Ed included a pair of Silver quarters; 1964 port and 1959 starboard,

They are Ideal silver for emergency commerce to be used after the failure of any or all of the following; failure of the Monetary system, Hyperinflation or High Inflation, Economic collapse, Economic Reset, or most types of Stackitis.
My kind of Economics talk!

And in the middle, The 2019 Version Steem Round, Part two
1

In my admiration I turned to thank this Captain but he had already left my company without any warning, just as he came. With the sun setting and from the stern of his ship sailing off in the distance Captain @edthecanadian simply nodded back, satisfied to a job well done.

Thank you for the Canadian styled surprise gifts Ed!

P

With only 1500 Minted this 2019 Version is already a hot item as previous years versions are only available in the secondary market at significantly higher premiums. Supply and Demand, so keep an eye out for announcements of the new 2020 Version even with opportunities to win.

And should that original Steem Round from Ray actually shows up, a Steem round may just appear in a raffle or Giveaway. #ssg-community’s got a generosity reputation to live up to.

R

The #piratesunday tag is the scurvy scheme of Captain @stokjockey for #steemsilvergold and #ssg-community pirates to proudly showcase their shiny booty and plunder for all to see. Landlubbers welcomed to participate and be a Pirate at heart so open yea chests an’ show us what yea got!

I hope you enjoyed this very special feature

Thank you for stopping by my Blog today.

Been here in Canada most of my life and that's largely true with a few exceptions like the fellow stuck in rush hour traffic, car heater not working, low in gas, late for work, and missed his ritual cup of TIm Horton's coffee a few blocks back. Not a Happy Camper.

I've lived in Canada most of my life, a few exceptions like the fellow who was stuck in traffic, late for work, heater not working, low on gas, and just missed his last chance for his ritual Cup of Tim Horton's Coffee a few blocks ago. Not a happy Camper! Somethings wrong here, can't delete extra comment.

I thought I lost my original comment and didn't show for quite a while so I re commented and then my original popped up. Internet must be busy at that moment.

Not sure what I'm more jealous of, the autographs, the shiny or your badass mask :P

My mask I wear as I'm on my Mountain bike when I commute from work,
I need it especially on those wet days and its seen better days so it's time for a new one.
Or, just look badass riding my bike.
I make sure I take it off first before entering a bank.

Thanks @stokjockey , Now I know that @edthecanadian has a big interest in Hockey cards and hockey itself.
I don't suppose that there will be a "SteemMonsters on Ice" card series in the works?
I know I haven't been up to date with that game system.
