If you aren't playing dCity yet, you should be!

I'm climbing the ranks on dCity... I'm coming for you @d-pend! :)

If you have been following my blog for the past several months you likely have seen a couple posts of mine about getting involved with dCity.

Unfortunately for me, I didn't jump in when it first launched over a year ago at this point, but better late than never and I haven't missed out on too much getting started when I did.

I had heard about it a few times over the last 12 months but didn't really get involved with it until just recently.

Specifically, when I started to see the return potential that was possible with these cities.

Anyways, as it stands right now, based on the snapshot taken today, my city is in 9th place overall by population.

Check it out:

(Source: https://dcity.io/ranking)

Even though it is in the 9th spot in terms of population, it's actually in the 3rd spot in terms of SIM income.

The climb is starting...

As you can see from the picture above, I needed about 8k more population to move into the 8th spot and about 20k more population to move into the 7th spot.

Well, I went on a bit of buying spree this afternoon...

Check out the current numbers:

(Source: https://dcity.io/city)

I've jumped by about 24k population and about 9k in SIM this afternoon.

This puts me in the 7th spot in terms of population and keeps me in the 3rd spot in terms of SIM.

However, I'm not quite done yet... :)

After I move up tomorrow, @d-pend would be next on the list if I want to continue climbing, though his city is a bit out of reach at the moment.

Based on my up to date numbers, I would still need another 73k increase in population and about a 31k increase in SIM to pass him.

For those of you playing the game, you know that those numbers are going to be difficult to make up in a short period of time, and I am sure if @d-pend is reading this, he won't be giving up that position willfully. :)

My overall goal is even a bit more ambitious than just that though, I'd like to eventually have my city in the Top 5 overall.

Something that can be quite expensive and take a lot of time, especially if you are doing it with minimal unemployment...

However, no goal worth achieving ever comes easy!

If you would like to get involved with dCity feel free to let me know in the comment section below as I feel it can be a great way to earn some passive income in crypto.

Stay informed my friends.

-Doc

I’m just getting into it myself now and love it. Once I got over the learning curve and found a good formula to it, I’ve been very happy with the game.

Lots of fun!!

I've noticed there are several things that tend to compound your earnings, such as the mining cards. Once it gets big enough it becomes unstoppable! :)

The compounding effect is epic. Only recently I got to the point where I could buy a new card every day. Now I’m getting close to being able to buy two per day in what feels like a month or two. Seems like the growth is exponential, most pale above you in the rankings are growing faster. So going up the rankings needs serious commitment.

Yep, that is exactly right. You either are growing or you are getting left behind. People have to decide whether they want to grow or cash out their earnings. A mixture of both is probably the best approach.

Is say so yes. Keep compounding, but do take profits as well along the way.

Such an exciting time for dcity players. Reminds me of splinterlands when it was in the alpha/beta phase

I hope it follows a similar trajectory! dCity now needs to figure out how to bring in new players outside of the HIVE ecosystem.

Nope, not late. Though the first edition cards will be discontinued in several weeks so best to get in before then.

I tried many games on steem and hive. People overexcited at first and with time they fade away. End result: waste of time and money.
I know what you'll say; this one is different.
Good luck.

Splinterlands is the prime example of games fading away:

Yep. :) Plus this game is over a year old already and is still growing... the daily active users continues to climb month after month.

I enjoy the games I have started playing on Hive (including dCity). I am a video game player from way back (before many of the people on these leaderboards were even born), and the opportunity to make money doing so really floats my boat. Oh, you'll never see my username crack the top 10, but I'm having fun and making a little change as I do it. Enough said.

It is pretty neat to get paid playing a game. :) Though this one seems be 70% investment and only 30% game.

Hey thanks Doc, I have my dCity going but am at level 0.1 as I haven't figured out the learning curve yet. And I feel by nature too poor to spend any of my Hive. That said, I like the idea of an investment. I still have 2 homeless people lol, and 2 houses in my dCity, but need to get to the next step.

By the way, when will Hive ever start gaining in value? It's worth less that Steem this week lol. I hear one post calling for $0.10 as the support from which Hive will resume an uptrend. I appreciate your insight.

It could get worse still before it gets better, but I do think that within the next several months the price will be higher than it is right now. That being said, I have found parking my hive in dCity cards as preserved their value of sorts. Allowing me to earn income instead of just sitting in HIVE.

That sounds like an ingenious strategy - investing in dCity cards lol.

I am playing it too, I have to work on my income, I am at rank 21 for a while now, but my income is growing each day 😊 I really like the game. Wow you have a lot of factories there, now are too expensive and I dont think is worth buying them anymore, I prefer to get malls
