A friend of mine joins the BTC Whole-Coiner Club!

The Whole-Coiner Club keeps expanding...

Accounts holding at least 1 BTC continues to climb every single year.

Are you a whole-coiner, or is someone you know a whole-coiner?

A whole-coiner is someone that owns at least 1 full bitcoin.

Going back to 2013 the number of whole-coiners has continued to rise every single year, with this year being no exception.

Here's the data on this day (today), going back to 2013:

As you can see, every single year since 2013 the number of bitcoin addresses with at least 1 BTC in them has continued to grow.

This may not be that surprising considering the total supply has increased every single year as well, thus making this easier to do in theory.

However, in reality the price has going higher on average every single year since 2013, which means it is getting more and more expensive to own 1 whole coin.

Which means, investors are putting more and more money into bitcoin in order to obtain that one whole coin.

On a personal note...

While this may or may not represent more retail involvement and more HODLers in general, this stat was especially interesting to me today for a similar reason.

I got a phone call out of the blue this morning from someone I hadn't talked to in some time.

I had mentioned bitcoin to him back in 2017 and 2018 a couple of times and he said he was interested in buying it.

I remember specifically talking to him when it was around $5k and said you know, if you are still interested in this thing, now is probably a good time to pick up some.

Of course he did not listen and well the rest is history.

He called me up this morning and said, "ok, I am not going to miss out this time around, I want to buy one full coin, what's it going to cost?"

I told him luckily he decided that today as opposed to a few days ago when it was 15% higher.

Anyways, long story short, he bought one full bitcoin today and is now of the whole-coiners I mentioned above.

Hopefully that is a decision he is not regretting a year from now. History says that he should be pretty happy by then.

Stay informed my friends.

Most may end up priced out of Bitcoin... If this thing plays out like I anticipate.

Yep, that is a very real possibility. Only 21 million coins to go around... actually about 30% less than that even due to lost coins etc.

Good deal. Hopefully that makes them a "millionaire" within the next decade.

I recently had a real estate investing buddy buy 1 coin to join the club. It is pretty cool to see this number grow through our own personal networks, even if it's just one or two.

The sad thing is that had he bought when I first mentioned it to him he could have 3-4 for the same price he just paid for 1.

Yes it is. I normally don't give investment advice to friends or family, in fact it's a rule of mine not to. I just tell em what I am doing if they ask. Well he asked, and then asked some more. :)

I had no idea those numbers were that huge or steadily increasing Wonder how close we are to that 21 million, as it seems whole coin ownage will be very expensive at that point.
