Bitcoin and Ethereum have the world at their feet and they rule the cryptocurrency markets with tremendous prices. It is clear that the big companies and anyone wants a piece of them and business started to include crypto payments for their goods. So it is normal to ask the following question...

Can I buy a Tesla car using Bitcoin or Ethereum directly?

I suspect that the answer will depend in part on the state.

Remember, the most important thing that you do in life is pay taxes.

Praise be the state.

If you are in a state that requires sales to be based on dollars and taxes to be paid in dollars; then you really can't buy any car with bitcoin as the official sale will be in dollars.

You might find a dealership that that will accept the bitcoin and do the official translation into dollars for you. In this case the dealership would be a currency broker and a car dealership in the same transactions.

Some states accept taxes in precious metals. In these states there are some dealerships that will do the entire transaction in precious metals provided the parties involved are keeping their accounts in precious metals.

Tesla does not have local dealers. Tesla corporate could block a sale. However, I suspect that local branches would be willing to sell cars with any currency accepted in their jurisdiction.
