"Send 1 Bitcoin, Receive 2 Back"

It is some times uncontrollable to fall victim to hacks with password being compromised and all the possible loopholes the hacker takes advantage of in executing the hack but what is unacceptable is falling for things like...

send 1 Bitcoin, receive 2 back

regardless of the coin/token.

A “giveaway” scam claimed another victim today after someone ended up sending a whole Bitcoin (≈$11,300) to its address, according to on-chain alerts service Scam Alert.

The transaction occurred when someone sent the Bitcoin to an address linked to “teslafreegift.com,” a site registered this October which is not connected to the official Tesla company.

You really don't want to be falling for cheap scams as this, giveaways with me send certain amount to receive double or triple whatever it may be have been a common bait which people should be well aware of by now and just look away when they see such.
At time if we put a bit of common sense to use, it will definitely pay off!

It shocks me that people fall for this. Terrible. Nobody is giving anyone a free bitcoin! NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! Maybe a friend of relative, but not a stranger!

It is very sad and surprisingly it is people that have some knowledge about Bitcoin or some basic knowledge about cryptocurrency.

True, you don't just go believing everything, I learnt the hard way by investing in Bitcoin mining companies what was not existence back in 2013 and lost all my BTC, since then I'm very careful with crypto investments.

Common sense isn't all that common I guess. The best of this type of scam occured when someone hacked the twitter accounts of famous people like Obama, Oprah, Clinton. Then they asked for people to send various amounts of bTC, I remember coinbase had to freeze some accounts to prevent foolish people from sending thier BTC to the scammers. It will probably keep happening and some of us have to learn the hard way.
Thank you for sharing :}
