Unknown identity - Identidad desconocida
With that title the first film of the Bourne trilogy was known in Latin America, a trilogy that later went on to have a fourth film, well it doesn't matter, I don't want to mess with the film industry because it's not my topic.
But the title serves my purpose of talking a bit about Microsoft's already completed project to provide a decentralized profiling platform. Note that I say profiles and not people since it is designed to provide identity security to any profile of a natural and legal person who uses it in any facet of their activity.
Microsoft chose the Bitcoin blockchain for this development and had the assistance, help and partnership of several other companies and organizations that work on this issue, mainly from DIF a foundation whose mission is that of "promoting a world where decentralized identity solutions allow entities to obtain control over their identities and allow trustworthy interactions", as stated in its presentation.
I don't understand yet what the scope of this is and I can't imagine it either. For now, I am only interested in the basic issue of this solution, which is to have chosen the Bitcoin blockchain because it is considered the safest, in the words of the managers, it is so far in this matter from the other blockchains that its margin is absurdly large.
The ION network, such as the name chosen by the computer giant, works as a second layer solution similar to the well-known Lightning Network, except that, instead of focusing on micropayments, it uses the Bitcoin network to create or validate as appropriate, identifications that endorse the identity of people during an online action. This new system uses the same logical scheme as Bitcoin to sign identities, with a public and a private key, and each transaction has a security hash that allows any action to be categorized with total security.
The weight in the statements and decisions of Microsoft is very important in the technological world, despite having had several failures in its history it continues to be respected and followed by many, we will see that those who work daily in many other blockchains and those in many cases consider that their developments are safer, faster and cheaper than that of the first and most famous chain.
Con ese título se conoció en Latinoamérica la primera película de la trilogía de Bourne, trilogía que luego pasó a tener una cuarta película, bueno no importa, no quiero meterme con la industria del cine porque no es mi tema.
Pero el título sirve a mi propósito de hablar un poco sobre el proyecto ya concretado de Microsoft para brindar una plataforma de identificación descentralizada de perfiles. Nótese que digo perfiles y no personas dado que está pensado para brindar seguridad de identidad a cualquier perfil de persona física y jurídica que lo utilice en cualquier faceta de su actividad.
Microsoft eligió la blockchain de Bitcoin para este desarrollo y contó con la asistencia, ayuda y sociedad de varias otras empresas y organismos que trabajan sobre este tema, principalmente de DIF una fundación cuya misión es la de “impulsar un mundo donde las soluciones de identidad descentralizadas permitan a las entidades obtener control sobre sus identidades y permitir interacciones confiables”, tal como reza en su presentación.
No comprendo aun cual es el alcance de esto y tampoco puedo imaginarlo. Por ahora solo me interesa el tema de base de esta solución que es haber elegido la blockchain de Bitcoin por considerarla la más segura, según palabras de los directivos, está tan lejos en esta materia de las demás blockchain que su margen es absurdamente grande.
La red ION, tal es el nombre elegido por el gigante de la informática, funciona como una solución de segunda capa a similitud de la conocida Lightning Network, excepto que, en lugar de centrarse en micro pagos, se sirve de la red de Bitcoin para crear o validar según el caso, identificaciones que refrendan la identidad de las personas durante una acción en línea. Este nuevo sistema utiliza el mismo esquema lógico de Bitcoin para firmar identidades, con una clave pública y otra privada y cada transacción posee un hash de seguridad que permite categorizar cualquier acción con total seguridad.
El peso en las declaraciones y decisiones de Microsoft es muy importante en el mundo tecnológico, a pesar de haber tenido varios fracasos en su historia continúa siendo respetado y seguido por muchos, veremos que responden aquellos que trabajan a diario en otras muchas blockchain y quienes en muchos casos consideran que sus desarrollos son más seguros, rápidos y baratos que el de la primera y más famosa cadena.
