It's well known as being stressful, but now I've done it I'd advise anyone migrating to here from the UK to buy a NICE car before they leave and import it like I am, the better quality the car the more you'll save as a general rule.
Honestly, there's PLENTY of choice for VW golfs (they are very popular) with well over 200 000 KM on the clock.
But for if you pay less than $3000 for a car, I doubt it'd pass its next MOT.
There are certain things that are just expensive here. Wood for building is apparently another one.
