What would You advise a Newbie to Invest in?

Hello to every human being alive! I have so many post ideas but today i will get a bit out of my usual schedule to write about something i really need your help with.

Basically, i just wanna listen to your opinions and learn a few things along the way but i am a little bit of a drama queen or king :p Anyway, hear my story and be good the samaritan!

The Story

Yesterday morning i went for a walk, with a very good friend of mine. He knows that i am involved with cryptos and ofc now that btc went to the moon he asked me to find out more.

More specifically, it's not that he asked but he is determined to invest just a small amount and see what's going to happen. I told him a few words about Hive and Leo as well as about other cryptos, but that was a generic conversation.

I also asked him, whether or not he has time to invest along with his money because i know his working schedule. He said that there is no way that he can write posts and that he got no time to do anything

I get him, he works 2 jobs and has a lot of other responsibilities as well that came out of nowhere. From my understanding, he wanna invest in hive or leo not because he believes in the coin but because he trusts me :P

so i have a burden or a responsibility in a way :P

What he wanna do is invest a total of 200 euro give or take, maybe less. He thought to invest 100 in Hive or Leo (or both) and the other 100 on another coin.

My Advice

So my advice was to either invest the 100 euro on Hive and delegating them to @leo.voter or buy leo and curate a bit. With 100 euro you buy around 1000 Hive and he gonna receive 16% from @leo.voter.

Or 400 Leo and start giving some upvotes here and there. By doing the first he literally won't spend time at all, plus he will earn LEO and by doing the second he'll spend just a few minutes each day.

The drawbacks i see is that following the hive investment in case hive increases in value it will need more time to undelegate and unstake while following the leo investment that process is faster, thus enjoying profits faster.

I also advised him with the other 100$ to either invest in Litecoin, Cardano or Thorchain. I think each of these coins has value and will increase in value, litecoin is the silver and i have 2-3 and as far as it concerns the other 2 i keep hearing from the community that it's a good investment. He also won't have to invest time only a 1 minute or so to check the prices daily.

That's what we said in that walk but we gonna talk again more in-depth because i wanna check everything more carefully as he is a good friend of mine.

So what would you advise him to invest in if you were in my shoes?

I will tag some users here on purpose that i would like to hear their advice as i think they know way more things than i do, don't need to upvote it just share your opinion!

I'm avoiding advising anyone when it comes to investment but I would invest in Hive, Leo and LBI, not necessarily in this order. Obviously this is on Hive blockchain. Besides these, obviously BTC, but if one only has 100 or 200 euro, that is not much, but still something.

I try to avoid any kind of investing advice but buying tiny amounts of BTC each time wouldn't be a bad idea.

Better buy something that you definitely know where it's heading to despite being expensive than purchase something that it might simply be stuck in the mud for ages...

Also, if I had to choose between Hive and LEO I'd definitely recommend LEO

I don't invest in things I don't understand so I'd tell him to do a little research on Bitcoin and Ethereum. From there if he wants to investigate coins you recommend him, he would be much better off.

If he doesn't want to do a little research, he probably shouldn't be investing.

I would personally get some exposure to BTC or ETH before anything. I'd buy Hive if I was interested in the community, if not I would not. I'd probably look at Steller or Vechain. Litecoin is too similar to bitcoin so whether or not it survives depends entirely on name recognition...It could do great but I'm a little uncertain. Cardano is my favorite out of those 3 you mentioned. He should probably know what a smart contract is and know something about it though....

Dollar cost averaging is a great strategy, I'd probably rotate between BTC, ETH, and one or two other coins that are higher risk, but learning about them beforehand.

Not financial advice :-P

thanks a lot for stopping by! Most likely we gonna buy some eth and leo, I will need to look at cardano myself as i keep on hearing good words and it won't be a bad investment for me :P

If he doesn't want to do a little research, he probably shouldn't be investing.

hehe the thing is, he wants but he literally has no time to do it. 2 jobs other responsibilities, that's why i think we wanna get involved in crypto in order to have more free time long term :P

No crazy reasearch required. Just 15-30 minutes minimum. Maybe two or three times. It’s a whole lot safer of an investment then

BTC or ETH. The best choice for newbies. And a safe bet for you.

hahaha i will "make" him buy some eth for sure. The hard thing is that he saw my hive/leo wallet, which is not much (1500$ worth) but got excited even though i told him i took a lottt of time to gather that amount

Here's what I advise my friends :

open a binance account
buy as much as eth you are willing to invest
put it in a savings account
repeat steps 2 and 3

thank me in 5 years.

hive or leo they are not for newbies and they are not going to outperform ETH.

I always tell newbies to stick to Bitcoin until they actually enter another community that they want to be a part of and support. Bitcoin is the least volatile asset with the least emotional baggage and easier to stomach the dips. I only invest in networks that I actually use. I do not speculate on what a network could be one day.

Bitcoin is the anchor

Maybe other people will difficult to understand about Hive and LEO because at the first this chain is about community, not really pure about investment in crypto like BTC and ETH

In here just for long terms investment:) we cant just invest and go 🙃

yeah that's true but given his time and after he saw my wallet and got excited i think in long term it will be a good investment. For instance if he buys 1k of hive paying 100 euro and during 2021 hive reaches 1$ then he just made 900in profits!

it's a bigger risk though! I agree with you that eth is a better investment for a newbie

I have a question, hopefully you can help me, if I decide to buy LEO to vote and get healing rewards, should I just buy the token and have it in my wallet or do a LEO power up to my LEO Power?

if i understand correctly you want to have stake and your vote to value? if yes then you have to power up your liquid leo!
