In comparison, leaving money on an exchange is similar. People think that it is safe to trade and leave the money there, but in reality, it is risky because you do not have your keys. You are trusting the owners to maintain the keys for your money.

I agree on that 100%. I only keep a small amount on exchanges, just what I need immediately but other than that, a cold wallet is the best.
