What Kind Of Content Do You Support On Leo?

It's interesting to see how the community is growing on Leofinance and more interesting (sometimes sad though) to see what kind of content gets supported.

Yesterday I had a post about what drives people to Leofinance, what they appreciate the most and the feedback I got was very interesting, encouraging and exactly what I was hoping for. Obviously it can't be taken as the voice of the entire community as only a few people replied, but it's their opinion and I respect that.

Reading about what they like, or would like to see on Leofinance led me to think about how content creation is influenced here, knowingly or/and unknowingly.

There's a lot of confusion regarding what kind of content fits the profile of the platform. There's a FAQ that lists the most common categories of content we see on LeoFinance.

This is more or less clear. If you have financial education or experience you know what it means. If not, you most likely try to interpret the list as you best can and some may be confused when they see Hive as it can mean the Hive blockchain, the Hive community and they don't know it refers to the token and the economics related to it.

@khaleelkazi had two posts (1, 2) lately about what he'd like to support on Leo, what kind of content would be appreciated. The first post started a debate as the users had something to say about the matter, one opinion came after another and there was another post later with the conclusions and about how the community managed to influence Khal's decision.

We all know how important proof of stake is on our blockchain and what's the role of stake. Anyone with a stake can influence what kind of posts get into the trending section and that's what we have to watch for a week or so, till the post is trending, like it or not.

There's a Curators Pick section at the top of the page, which indicates the choice of the Leofinance curator team. That's clearly based on what curators is voting, users have little to do with it I believe.

There's the Recent Posts section which gets less space on the front page, I've suggested a change in the setup in an earlier post to change that but that is besides the point now, that's not what I'd like to talk about today.

The thing is, we are all responsible for what gets in the trending section. Most of us have stake and our voting behavior influences what kind of content is popular.

So let's see, what are you voting on? What kind of content are you supporting? How are you influencing the trending page?

so i first check on my feed, the people i follow like you for example and then i check the recent page!

Now about the content i really don't have something specific, i like a lot of things. What i don't like and i don't usually read are economic posts with diagrams and stuff that "predict" or trying to read the future of a coin.

I see a lot of charts daily, as you say, trying to predict the future :) It would be interesting to see how many are right thought.

Imma bit of a snob so I basically ignore any leo posts for engagement and curation and only focus on non-leo content I feel it has more value, I learn new things and it entertains me so that’s what I value

I feel khal does enough with his marketing and the rest is just regurgitating for rewards! I’m a bit of an outlier it seems so I just keep that to myself

I was thinking of doing a similar post because it is all very interesting to me. I like to learn about leo and the ecosystem. That the type of content I like most. So much to learn here.

I don't think I'm influencing the trending page at all as my vote is not worth enough to do that. I mostly vote on more personal stuff or posts that are educational in a basic way.

One of the frustrating things for me is that the stuff I read generates a lot of questions and when I think about writing a post myself it is usually a question so I end up not writing it.

I wish there was some way to have a section specifically to get questions answered. Or to separate newbie type posts from the more advanced stuff.

There's nothing wrong in collecting your questions in a post. Getting answers to your questions can be helpful to others as well. Don't let yourself be intimidated by those who think/say those posts are not of quality or just milking the reward pool. Learning crypto and finance is a process and has to start somewhere. This is a crypto and finance related platform and one of the purpose should be educating people.

I like to reward the posts that are not trending most of the time. Sometimes the trending authors don't reply to the commenters at all or just to their best friends. That's something I have mentioned before, you won't see me upvoting authors like this. Why cant they even give a 1% upvote on your comment? I was voting comments a lot with onealfa and taskmaster. then I noticed the author wasn't doing it too.

Just a rant, you got me thinking. (good job)

I've seen as well that some users are not replying to comments at all. Upvoting comments is difficult sometimes as I need to balance my vp but when my vp is not low, I'm upvoting comments too.
If not, I'm distributing engagement tokens to motivate and encourage users to engage. I'm hoping one day I can afford to upvote comments as well.
