dCITY - Get started now!

There are two great things about dCITY.

  1. It's an idle game. It plays by itself and thus it is not very time-consuming.
  2. Even though you need to invest a little bit into the game to start playing it's going to be very cheap with the help of the dCITY market.

An user @thatgermandude wanted to know more about dCITY - how to start and so on. I already gave him some advices in the comments, but I wanted to make more in-depth post about it.

To actually start playing dCITY and to use the dCITY market you need to have SWAP.HIVE tokens. You can get SWAP.HIVE tokens by depositing HIVE to the Hive-Engine exchange.

dCITY can be played in many different ways.

  1. For example the best player, @luca-legend, is playing in a way that he has thousands and thousands of Park and Basic Home cards, but no SIM income. He doesn't really need it because by being first in the leaderboard he is getting huge HIVE rewards.
  2. Player like d-pend is more diversified so he is not only getting SIM and HIVE rewards, but also some Hive-Engine based tokens daily.

Everybody has different strategy, but by seeing how these experts play it's easy to know that as a new player the most important part is to have 30% probability to bring new citizens into your city. This way even if you stop playing your city will keep getting bigger and better and that's the main point of an idle game!

To increase this probability you have to increase the popularity of your city and the cheapest way how to do that is by buying the Park cards from the market - right now one Park card costs less than 0.8 HIVE.

When you have 30% probability you can think of what to do next. I think very smart would be buying Job Center cards from the market to transform those new citizens into workers, scientists and artists.

I have been playing dcity for a while now and it's seems like I can't hire a worker but now with your post

I see how I can get workers.

I have just a gym and night club is that a good way to start and build or which do you recommend to purchase.

Your city is not even that bad!

I know that it will sound stupid, but I would just buy a lot of parks because your city lacks popularity.

Popularity is great because not only it increases your chances to bring in new citizens, it also increases your population modifier. For example with a popularity of 1460 and a base population of 642 I actually have a population of over 1700!

I agree. Any way to earn passive (or at least relatively passive) income is worth giving a shot. On your recommendation I bought myself another Job Center, hopefully convert some more of those immigrants. 😀

Thanks for the more in-depth explanation. I already have 12 parks but only 6% probability.... I also bought some other stuff like Research Centers, Art Galleries, a Job Center and Weed Farm + Distributor. I wanna make my city at least worth living in.

I will buy some more parks and wait for the bumbs to come to my city

What you get is random, but everything is good!

I saw your city today and I think you are doing great. You already have 9% probability to bring in new citizens!

thx for the feedback. I somehow thought Im doing terrible since I dont get much Sim and not many new people. The new people will need a place to work to give me income/anything useful though right?

Also Crime is rising, I built one Police Station but Crime is still 9%. I'm scared somebody gonna rob all my Sim D:

My brother @srmallara and I are playing it together.
I think we are doing pretty good , we understood how it works by experience and right now we are enjoying it.

Edit : I will take this opportunity to ask , is it worth to buy School and hospital?
