404: Blog Not Found

Sorry, this post doesn't exist yet!

I always make an effort to link the posts I write back to other posts I've written on the same topic or within the same vein. Sometimes it's an explanation of a concept that would require several extra paragraphs to reiterate to those who haven't read the other articles I wrote weeks, months, and sometimes even years ago. Oops, I did it again.

I played with your heart.

Often times I find myself trying to link to posts I haven't even written yet. This 404 error post will serve as a placeholder for me to do just that: link to posts I haven't written yet. You'd be surprised how many times I've tried to do it... to the point of creating this overly worded error message today.

Instead of just making it a '404 not found' post, you should make different template pages for topics that you're going to talk about in the future.

Ignore the rewards-window and just continuously edit content into those pages as time goes by.

This is what I do on @crypto-guides - The newest post is a blank template and the older ones are 5000+ word epics that have been edited long after the Hive rewards window ends.

LeoFinance then ends up with a collection of evergreen pieces of content to help long-term SEO.

Try it?

I'll think about it.

Not quite sure how I would do something like this. I have a lot more ideas for posts than I actually write about. I have a backlog of a thousand ideas I technically could write about but just never did. Not sure if this strategy works with my current setup.

Just something to think about when you're linking to old posts.

  1. You're helping the reader.
  2. You're helping Google index - So linking to evergreen content is best.

It's always good to backline things. I was expecting it to be 2-3 sentences when I saw the post so it's a bit more than I thought it would be.
