TECH Mining Strats for DCITY.io - why aren't you putting your HIVE to work mining DCITY?

We came out with an innovative strategy in our last post, where a user could mine homeless and immigrants tokens in DCITY for as little as 50 hive to start.

Today's strategy is a bit more cost intensive, but it has potential HUGE upside in mining potential, especially with a little bit of clever thinking.

The 3rd edition is just over the horizon, but the @dcitygame account has already started announcing some of the upcoming COMBINE recipes, which is believed to be extremely bullish for the rare and mineable tech cards. Of current note at the time of posting is the Central Bank:

So with the TECH card BOOM on, TECH card mining has boomed as well. Limited edition combines have made the amount of currently mined tech very valuable. And the endless possibilities of this with future editions, as well as 2 new unrevealed TECH trees in the upcoming edition number 3, stacking TECH has never yielded more potential upside than it does right now.

The maximum mining rate for education right now is 25%, available with 1000 education. This is very easy in a large SIM-strat city, because the popularity is sky-high and so the worker heavy education buildings are easy to populate with working bodies.

But in a TECH mining colony, we are going to need a lot more cards to fill up all the jobs, in fact, some of these builds are ranking for hive rewards on the leaderboard.

This scientist heavy version is probably one of the lowest overall cost versions, a small efficient build - apart from tech, you can see that it is also into the sweet range for mining homeless and immigrants. 105k sim estimated valuation comes in at about 505 HIVE investment.

Using basic homes can get a bit more income, and notice that this version here uses a Shopping Mall in an attempt to turn the homeless and immigrant tokens generated into a criminal token. Currently the price of criminals is very high, since it is the newest card in the game.

I haven't added criminal mining into our favorite build, since I suspect the price of criminals is likely to fall a lot, unless @gerber surprises with another mechanic for the card. The card itself also throws entire cities out of whack, so this makes it less passive, you really need to check every day and remove the criminal if it has appeared. Additionally, there is income loss from crime that cuts into the profits, if any, on criminal mining. Its all speculation anyway, but here is our favorite build:

While we might add a shopping mall plus a population buffer to this set up if criminal card prices do pan out, notice the use of luxury homes for increased income, and a full set of art galleries to maximize Creativity Mining.

Art Galleries and their Background and Animation Mining have also undergone enormous improvements in the recent updates, especially Compose your City and DCity Art Update.

Of course this is the most expensive variety shown so far, coming in just under 1000 hive.


Whatever your build, tech tree management is an important consideration. As the 'Better Documentaion Practice' card, from the EDUCATION tree is all the rage for its upcoming limited time use in the CENTRAL BANK combine recipe, its important to ask ourselves....

WHAT TO UNLOCK?

While most main accounts will naturally unlock all the possible techs at first, it stands to reason that a second round of thinking might be in order. If you can only find one tech per day, less trees unlocked means more techs in the unlocked trees.

Unlike the 'meta' strategy of mining SIM income, this tech mining strategy, like the homeless and immigrant mining before it, is impervious to future tax increases. If you are only playing for the SIM, remember I said you are going to cry when inevitably taxes start to climb.

Nice review I have most cards ready especially Better Documentation..

I also scooped up 3 Law firms which I never was able to roll for only 7 Hive.. guess they didn't get the memo!

I was going to do some of these calculations on builds myself, when I felt that my main city was balanced enough to move focus to other cities.
But you save me some of that work, so thank you for that.
I agree. Mining assets is a must if you want to take full advantage of this strategic game. And the SIM income is mostly just to reinvest in those mining strategies.

Thanks for the guide! Will probably combine the tactic with the main city to bring science faster to the max. I have a main and two alts where I move casinos and supermarkets, not to get robbed in the main one.:)
