The Great DCITY Background Giveaway!

I like dcity, and I have published some guides in the past about my strategies. This post is not a strategy that I would necessarily recommend for its 'ROI', but I just noticed that I am quite possibly also the number 1 background miner in DCITY.

In the past, art centers fell in price sharply, it was basically the first card to fall out of favor after 2nd edition came out, and I 'bought the dip'. Even after the enormously bullish upgrades to DCity ART Update and Compose your City, Art gallery prices remained surpressed, and I bought up a lot of them. Partially this was fitting with the 'zero-sim strats', but also I figured that art gallery, as a unique ability card, should have 'unique' value.

Just today, as I was consolidating some alt mining cities, I came across some evidence of the success of my background mining efforts.

I discovered that I was topping the richlist in a number of background tokens! Of course they are 'just' aesthetic, but at least I think it is a very creative and exciting and unexplored part of DCITY and its future potential.

Don't forget that we are also mining animations! There are very few in the game but there are more coming, even a few from a contest that was held.

The most exciting possibility is for these rare cards to be mixed up with the upcoming 'COMBINE' mechanic, which will feature 'recipes' in order to make special, and sometimes limited edition cards.

The DCity Team has soft announced that they are shooting for mid March launch of 3rd edition, but are making no promises because they are also launching a completely revamped and improved UI including market.

Several new mechanics have been seen being tested, including the new 'graveyard' card. What additional unannounced mechanics await us in 3rd edition? Can we expect the much anticipated 'prison' that will make money from the most recent addition - the criminal card?

I think that there is still life left in this DCITY game - at with SIM prices at relatively low price with respect to hive, it seems like a prime time to check your old cities and see what improvements you might want to make! Or roll some new cards with SIM purchased on LeoDex.

Most cards have come down very nicely in price if you are a buyer, especially the INCOME cards. But one card that hit its bottom long ago is my ever so lovely ART GALLERY, now available for 1.1 hive each.

We will have to see what the future holds for backgrounds, art galleries and animations - I hope the COMBINE recipe mechanic is everything I dream it can be for the future of the DCITY game.
