Top Cryptos Marketcap Bar Chart Race Animation | The race for the top
Playing around with the bar chart race animations, and this time with the top cryptos and their marketcap.
Having a look at the top coins and how there marketcap evolved over time can give us some nice perspective of the crypto industry.
The period that we will be looking here is 2015 till 2020. The marketcap for each coin is taken as the average per month.
Before 2015 there was not a much of todays top coins, so I decided 2015 to be a starting year.

Tip: watch closely to the other coins, excluding Bitcoin 😊.
Bitcoin is obviously dominating but we are seeing a lot of changes in the other positions. USDT has recently flipped XRP and is standing at no.3 now.
Will there be a BTC Flipping at some point in the future?
Not excluded, but looks like in won’t happen soon.

This is one of the best stats you've posted. It tells the clear story in crypto - BTC is the slow and consistent gainer and the rest of the cryptos are far more volatile and can be profitable if you time your entry and exit well. It illustrated the 2017 move well.. that was my favorite part 😂

Its a fun overview of 5 years in crypto.
BTC just stands there while the others are going up and down :)
It also shows that things have been moving forward. Like ETH showed up 5 years ago, and more projects that are now in the top 10 showed in 2017.
USDT has grown as well.

I think this chart actually tracks the future of where this willl he capital sits in BTC and it’s up to other Cryptos to validate why they should get more of it or not and when they fail it just goes back to BTC!
Soon these cycles will be more stable but for now it’s a Wild West rising those waves
ETH had a few attacks on BTC, reaching around 50% of BTC marketcap.
Will see will the flipping will happen ever!
