RE: An Age Of Capital Abundance

I am still worrying if Quantum computing advances super fast (might actually be 'slow' in quantum era though), the argument of Quantum-resistant cryptography is still up for test.

Then the foundation for all these is in danger. At least theoretically.

It is but if someone came up with a quantum computer tomorrow, I have a feeling that crypto would be the last place to look. Think about what one could access with a quantum computer. Forget crypto, everything in the world would be available to that person. Hell, money would really mean nothing since the one controlling the computer would be the most powerful person, by far, in the world.

Every secret any government has would be at that person's fingertips.

As for the pace of quantum, it will likely be a while although, periodically, some post about how a breakthrough might speed things up.

My guess is we are looking at a decade before we get something resembling that with applications that are actually usable.

In that time, I also believe the encrypters will figure out a way to upgrade the present encryption.

This is my thoughts too, quantum resistant crypto will be one to look out for, perhaps we will see Satoshi come up to give us Bitcoin 2.0

There are quantum resistant cryptographic signature schemes such as Lamport signature.
