Hive Has Some Serious Advantages For Achieving Success

I've been thinking long and hard about hive and I love it. There are ways to assure that it will be a success but everyone won't agree on all of the ways. I did get a little blowback on my post from yesterday and that's fine. In a nutshell there are some that just plain like steem.

I'm one of those that like steem. Not only do I like it, but I actually love it. But once Hive arrives, there will be no reason for me to like or love steem anymore because I will like and love Hive lol. At a time like this we need to look forward and not behind.

For a guy like me who posted on steem every day for 2 and half years and had a great time Hive will be better. In all that time on steem I never any real rewards for my content. Sure I got some votes here a and there but none were over a buck or two. Most of my sporadic "big" votes were about a dime. But I worked my way through it and learn to earn some steem with each post using dapps and tactics that supported losers like me such as sbi. I am not complaining. I worked hard and now 6000ish steem in my account and I'm a fully trained steemian.

Being a fully trained steemian is crucial for my future in Hive. You see when I first started Steemit I did it for SEO purposes and even though I mined my first bitcoin in 2013, I had no idea there was a token attached to steemit. But now I do.

Why is that important? Well, my learning curve has passed. I know what I'm doing. And when steemit started only a handful of people had any clue what was going on. And those people became those dreaded whales that drew the ire of so many minnows.

There is nothing wrong with being a whale. In fact anyone, including myself, reading this post wishes they were one. And let me point out that nobody is reading this post lol. I have no real audience after 2.5 years on steemit. But those whales who got really lucky by being early totally dropped the ball when it came to protecting their investments.

They never quite figured out that the real way for the rich to get richer is to give the poor people just enough to keep going. FDR was credited with saving democracy in WWII but he himself said that his greatest achievement was actually saving capitalism. It wasn't easy because even after the wealthy elite failed at their coupe to remove him, he had enough pity on them to save their wealth by creating the new deal.

I know Republicans out there will think I'm nuts but FDR was right. Give the poor one piece of that giant ass Pizza and they won't revolt. They will actually flourish. Just as a middle class that serves the rich evolved after WWII, a middle class serving the whales and growing the value of steem tried to form but the whales stamped them out. All they had to do was give 1 out of every 10 votes away to struggling minnow that was trying. That's it. Then that minnow would feel supported and motivated. That minnow would power up and even buy steem. That minnow would become that dolphin or whale that gave back because they understood how the system works and what it takes to grow in value. But it never happened.

This will happen with Hive

Why? Not because I say it will. It will happen because it has to. The reason is that the people who are forking and creating hive are smart. They are not Ned and they understand how a blockchain works as well as understanding how to grow the value of a token. Further, instead of people who just show up accidentally and become whales, there are several people starting this project out and all have a stake. They are taking a huge risk and they are bringing most of the active steemians with them.

Starting with active steemians is crucial because these people are trained already and those with stake need us to be fat and happy in order to grow the project. If we start with 1000 active Hive members enjoying themselves and earning tokens and each of us reach out to 10 people in our facebook, instagram or twitter networks and personally help them join and flourish with votes then we will grow this thing fast. Steem never had 10,000 active members using the blockchain properly.

I'm not saying that this is the goal but it is just an example of how growth hack the project. The point is that the people with Hive stake are not dumb enough to leave the user base in the dust.

So now one of the problems with Hive at the moment is confusion. Not everyone on steemit is talking about. The real reason for that is that nobody is really on steemit and those that are remain in their own little world. Most steemians don't sus out news and most don't hear what's going on with the block chain. Trust me, the small group complaining about Justin Sun is not enough to make a project a success. Outreach is the key and Hive will have no problem with outreach if they do it right.

Doing it right means making hive cool. Steemit is not cool. People have spent a lot of effort to make it uncool and keep it from growing. They did this by blasting shit content and ultimately downvoting. The only way to make Hive cool is to make it reflect the current trend in in social media. Well actually the only trend in social media since it started more than a decade ago. That trend is short form shit content. Long for me blog posting has been out of style since 2010. Sites like Medium have their place but it is certainly not among high traffic sites where people hang out. Medium is an afterthought and is mainly used to push links back to money sites.

Hive needs to be a place where anyone who is currently active on social media can come hang out, post and earn. And that means discord and telegram have to go. That was a huge mistake with steemit. Why on earth would a hub site like steemit make it so if people want to communicate have to be pushed off the site to discord and telegram. Facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest and youtube spend millions of dollars trying to keep people on their platforms without every having to leave to get information.

Let's fix that with hive. I don't know how to code but it can't too hard to set up a forum or chat situation. At the very least everyone should just learn to use their comments to communicate. If we get back to voting comments people will hang out on Hive.

Being the cool place to be is important for Hive because I don't expect the smart guys who are building this are going to be the worlds best marketers. It is up the users to do outreach if they truly want to get this project off the ground. They way they assure that is to give fat votes to the people posting. That will make them want to do outreach to their networks.

I remember trying to introduce an instagram influencer with over 1 million followers to steem. That person do a hello world post with not much else and got downvoted into oblivion and she decide that her brand was to valuable for a place like steemit . You know what? She was right and I decided to never introduce Steemit to influencers again.

So Hive needs to figure some of this stuff out but I know they can do it. Steemit was never even willing to try lol. Now don't think steem will die because my bet is that Justin Stun will fight back hard and somehow pump steem hard before he dumps it. I mean what else can he do.

So All Hive Needs to due is be Steemit lol. They need to be transparent, nurturing and do outreach. They need to be what steemit promised and since they are starting now with hopefully a thousand trained steemians in tow behind a group of founders with stake, it is already going to be more decentralized than steemit was when it started. Let's do this!
