Ask Leo: Why Should We Care About Cub?

I've been eagerly anticipating the announcement we had this morning much like everybody else but it's led me to a lot of confusion.

Over the last week, it was mentioned that holding liquid Leo would be a good idea this week so I took the plunge and sold 2500 steem yesterday and bought as much Leo as I could with it.

So now I have 1848 liquid and 1563 staked. Plus 2068 staked in my duration account.

My expectation today was going to be a project blank announcement as well as the binance announcement and I figured by the time I read it I would know exactly what to do.

My question is something that I really can't find in the comments of the original post or the discord so I'm going to ask the smart people of the community to weigh in in my comment section.

What I would like to know is why I should care about Cub? Is it going to be a tradable token and will it gain value?

Should I stake everything and get as much cub as I can or take what I'm eligible for at this point and do something on Binance with my liquid Leo tokens?

I've never used defi and I'm not sure that it's something that I'm going to get very involved in other than holding things in our Leo projects.

But I don't want to miss out on any quick profits that early adopters can take advantage of.

For example, I was thinking I could stake and collect as much cub as I could and then start a power down and take that liquid and throw it into the new pool. But I have no idea if that's the most profitable way to go. Maybe there is some type of advantage of providing liquidity to the pool The very first moment it exists.

So I would love for people to kind of help me decide on deciding. Is it a big deal to have 1800 more cub than I'm entitled to tomorrow or should I just ignore that 1800 liquid leo and throw it into this finance thing once I figure it out.

Or maybe sell my new liquid leo to buyers and just make a little profit on go right back to where I was yesterday?

AFAIK, CUB wouldn’t be stakable, since it’s really just a claim on another token. But I’m assuming the it will be sellable, to others so that they can claim.

honestly i don't have a clue :P Apparently, cub, for now, will be a "vault" token. And no matter what we will need to get into DeFi. Also, note that there will be another airdrop for the projectblank, so in total 2 airdrops :p

There seems to be a lot of confusion around for those of us not into Defi.

Seems we won't be able to trade CUB. I read this on another post . . .

if you trade the CUB tokens which are created and will be airdropped on Hive-Engine, the buyer can't use those tokens. They are linked to the account being airdropped to. So the only way to use CUB is to claim them on BSC.

I’m in the same situation, one side of my is telling my to stake my liquid LEO, but another says not to.

I don’t know what will CUB token be for. If it is for claiming bLEO then I would stake all LEO and swap all my AUTO tokens, but if it is for LeoFi then I don’t know.

Also, I still didn’t receive any LEO from geyser so I don’t if I will receive CUB.

Right now I’m pretty confused 🤷‍♂️

well I will probably end up staking all my liquid later tonight unless I figure out a great reason to have liquid. Im not selling anything so it probably won't matter for me.

I think I will hold my liquids, what will I do with over 43,000 Cub If I don't learn DEFI? Will I need to match that amount or something, $32,000 of the other token to be an LP? we will see!

well you have a nice amount of leo. I'm not there yet. I would like to learn the defi stuff too I just don't trust myself to have time to give it the proper attention.

If you are really interested in Project Blank then you are going to want to have as much staked as you possibly can. I can't tell you much about getting quick profits. I am in Leo for the long haul.

the plan is to profit from today and get those things staked for project blank drop. I'm keeping 500 liquid to play with, 5000 staked

That sounds like a really good idea. I am glad you finally settled on something. My numbers are much smaller than yours, but I am still hoping to participate on some level.
