#AskLeo - where can I buy with crypto anonymously?

Hi,

for today's #AskLeo, the # tag by @acesontop, I'm interested in a topic that might become handy in the future, namely, in which countries can I buy with crypto anonymously?

This would be a question that I won't be able to answer first, as I never did it. I was searching on the internet, but all information is pretty confusing.

In my day-to-day life, I try to pay solely by cash for some reasons, like anonymity, or a better control of the money flow.

As we march towards a world where crypto will become mainstream, I would really love to know where I could use it anonymously. Of course, I would love to know where I could use crypto directly without too many questions and verifications.

A credit card tells everything about me and my spending habits, like a phone carried the whole day with me.

When I go shopping, I go without a phone and with cash if it is possible. I would love to be able to use cryto on a piece of paper.

I'm also interested on buying real estate directly with crypto, without having questions on the money origin.

So, where can I buy with crypto anonymously? I'm thankful for every solution in the comments.

I am so sorry that I do not have an answer for you. In this country (USA) I am not sure it is possible to purchase real estate privately unless you have a labrynth of shell companies to try and cloak the transactions, but still.
I have often heard of people making anonymous transactions but even on the blockchain, sooner or later you will want to liquidate tokens and boom they have got you. This is way beyond me, but am fascinated with the subject of your question :-)

To an extent, I think crypto is fairly anonymous to an extent and I would not be surprised if there were banks/payment processors who would be willing to credit stuff to an account based on fiat anonymously. Tracing it back will only lead to the processor so I guess it would be fully anonymous so long as they don't give away the data.

I know there are forums where you can meet up with individuals and buy crypto for cash. That might be an option. You have to be careful and make sure you vet the person pretty well. I think your best bet would be to purchase something like EOS with cash and then you can use DEX's to exchange stuff anonymously. I guess anywhere you can use a DEX is an option once you get the initial funds.

Options to buy crypto anonymously:

  1. P2P obviously - Just gotta find the freedom/crypto/BTC folks in your area
  2. Non-KYC ATMS like CoinCloud ($1000 with a phone number, can be a burner), LibertyX ($500 at a time - no # needed), and others.
  3. Buy with a tracked method (coinbase, cashapp, etc) and use simpleswap.io to jump chains to something else - if you move through Monero then it's untrackable.

As for the spending and getting a house, the options there are more direct, but limited:

  1. Straight crypto deal with the owner of the land/house
  2. My plan is just cashing out my crypto into gold (through various sites like veldt, jmbullion, etc) and buying land with Gold - direct from the owner
  3. You can use purse.io to buy anything on Amazon, for less, with BTC.

There are also various p2p exchanges/sites that can be used to get in or out of crypto... but I know they often tend to shift as regulations change in different places. Paxful, localcrypto, and others come to mind.

Obviously every year there are more options, and it sure seems like 2021 is the first year of true mass adoption starting up, so there will be way more options in the near future.

Personally, after spending years telling people to only do P2P and anonymous, and then finding out that most of them never got in because it was too much, I shifted to the "Get crypto in the fastest, easiest, and cheapest way you can, and we can eliminate the trail later."
