The Hive Engagement League

This league is not based around financial rewards and relates to engagement.

Everyone currently on my master list has a chance here, including those powering down or dealing in delegations over the past couple of weeks. Only the top 100 scores are shown.

The score is made up from a simple formula which uses the following types of engagement:

  • Posts (P)
  • Comments (C)
  • Number of people spoken to (PS)
  • Comments outside of own posts (CO)
  • Unique Author posts (UA)
  • Comments - replies to replies - depth > 2 (CR)
  • Comments - length in characters (CL)
  • Up-votes to others (V)
  • Up-votes to different authors (UV)
  • Self-votes - No minus score but no bonus HIVE (SV)

Busy boy. Better than thumb-twiddling.

I've been on the rehab for my shoulder. Getting good range of movement, still heaps of pain, but it's moving in the right direction. I'm looking forward to it being sorted so I can get back to normal. not handstands, but might push some iron. Will be good to get strong again.

It is much better than thumb twiddling, although I'm doing a bit of that pre-handstands.

What's up with the shoulder? I've had a niggle for years which i think is the rotator cuff. It is fine with most movement and weight, but if i turn it the wrong way it has no power at all - surgery looks like the only option for a full repair :/

My doctor thought rotator-cuff but it's more complicated than that. Bursitis, or frozen shoulder they reckon. I've dealt with it since October 2019 and get a massive pain in my upper shoulder/outer bicep area when the shoulder rotates forward i.e. when my arm goes backward or up. Hand goes numb etc. The pain is severe and renders the arm useless for 10-30 seconds depending on the severity of the pain, which depends on the extent of the movement.

It sounds like you have similar.

I have had a cortisone injection into the top of my shoulder (ultrasound-guided) and that was supposed to drop the pain level so I could do the rehab but it hasn't really. Not keen for another one though, or an operation.

The range of movement is coming back slowly, through my exercise plan which I do daily, and I hope by the end of the year it will be fixed. The pain is the last thing that will go.

Good luck with yours, it's a shot thing to deal with.

Hmmm, I think yours sounds worse than mine as I don't get the numbness and the pain is only severe if i force a particular movement.

I'm not keen on an operation either and hoping (although it's been 3 years) it will recover on it's own. Stick with the exercises, hopefully you'll be sorted soon enough.

I am always surprised I do not rank higher as I consider myself pretty active, but others take it to another level. That's great. I have been thinking that we need to try and drive more engagement. One thing I am doing is to give more of my votes to comments rather than posts. If people respond to me then they deserve something and I want to see some of the big accounts make less from curation when they don't actually engage.

I think you set a good standard, plenty of comments and different people visited.

Taraz is one who votes a lot of comments, I try to do the same, especially with the alts.

I try to add a bit of an incentive to commenters but I'm such a minnow that many of my posts have unreleased rewards. Well over 300 $HIVE is just sitting there waiting for next month's #hivepud activities.

For a minnow things are different as you may not be able to give a useful vote to comments. You can still add to votes others give and your own comments can have value.

Hey Ash, the data in the first table, is that for one or two weeks? I didn't publish 10 posts a week.

I noticed in the past, and this week, some have made 40/50+ posts a week. Is the data in that column correct? 🤔

I'm studying with an instructor who follows me once a week. In the meantime, I should be practicing every day, but I struggle to get into the rhythm and punctually make a bad impression, because I haven't practiced!

32nd place for me if I can count correctly? Maybe good to have a numbered list in the left column so people can see position as well?

I was pretty surprised at being that high up but have felt inspired with some conversations I've had with others around here on their posts so obviously got a little bit chatty haha! Hoping to get to Orca by the end of the year or at least 50k HP - currently about 75HP effective after delegations 😆

Looks like it was an okay week, I actually made it into the top 20, and had the most comments I have made in one week in quite some time. I may not miss my year end goal by much if, and that's a bog IF, I can keep it up. I had to go all the way back to week 28 on steem to see a bigger number, only three times have I made it above 140 comments in one week.

The price spike was a fun thing to watch this week, and so far so good it has not dropped below where it was before the spike, (at least I don't think it has).

Congratulations everyone, and thanks to everyone for making Hive a fun place.

I think the price could well be below where it was prior to the spikes this week, and currently HIVE is trading for less than STEEM - crazy!
