You have the FOMO syndrome too?

Greed is a nasty thing.

Not much is needed to change people into brute, unsympathetic creatures. We see it in films (all those with Armageddon as subject to start with).
I wonder what drives people to start to fight about toilet paper. I know I live underneath a stone but how come you don't know there are plenty of other ways to wipe your ass? It reminds me of FOMO.

Of course, no one here was fighting in a shop, of course, not one single Steemian did. We are the good ones and not those who panic. Not one who answered my dpolls said he/she panicked and if I may believe the answers people do have their pantry filled or there's no need or money to do so. So not one of us hurried over to the market, supermarket, farmer to buy all kinds of food most are not even able to cook since we are the generation used to powder food, baking/cooking mixes, and takeaways.

Imagine you have only a few bucks to spend, you go to the shop and the only thing you need is flour and there's nothing left because the shop sold it all to one single person. That person took the whole pallet, about 300-700 kilograms.

More people started to order online.
A part cannot because there's no delivery where they live.
The supermarket Jumbo can no longer deliver, the supermarket Albert Heijn is making big money and Picnic (online shopping only) is the only one who limited the amount of some articles. Toilet paper for example. I am surprised all the shops didn't start with it immediately. Be honest you cannot trust people if you ask them to shop like usual. The biggest part is always afraid to starve for death. So afraid they cannot keep the lifestyle they are used to and easily throws away what is close to the expiry date or what they are no longer in the mood to eat.
Imagine the shops will be empty in a few months time, the shelves will remain empty... will you still be so picky?

Surprised I was to hear that after fresh vegetables the potato chips and beer were sold out! I wonder how alcohol and cigarettes are doing.

We had food on the table.

Bread, flour, oil, sugar, butter, meat, milk, and canned food were sold out. The freezers were nearly empty but there was plenty of toilet paper, pasta, chocolate, and biscuits.

No bread isn't a problem for us. Food is food. We skipped breakfast today and our first meal was after 1 pm.
The french fries (frozen) I bought two days ago with some tomatoes, cheese, and cucumber. The olives I still had.

A typical Dutch kid's menu: French fries + applesauce. The applesauce I still had in stock.

I made semolina pudding for two days (partly 50/50 milk/water) and this will be our second meal.
The children had one piece of fruit and this is enough for a day.

Before you die for hunger you need to eat way less - as I did today- for over months! This amount will not even make me lose weight.

Save yourself and others stress.

You will not die easily and instead of bread, you can eat potatoes, soup, oatmeal, potato chips or drink a hot cup of cocoa and have a biscuit. There's a life without meat and it won't harm most of us if we reduce our daily amount of food especially not if you have to stay home and are hardly active.

It would be better in a few days. I buy daily now. The paracetamol was empty I just bought today. I eat them because of the pain in my legs. I would just make a stock of 3 months and rotate. Also with the water.

Something like this.

Well you can buy it at makro or the other one now they sell 25kg bags of rice. They have also dogstuff enough... good luck. The water the infrastructure is next to go... when people get sick. You never know. I just prepare myself. But you have a well so if you store that water and the power goes out you can still use water.
