Good morning/afternoon/night Hive people. Today I will share with you my participation in the OCD contest #5 edition, this time it is about answering some of the 3 questions regarding movies or series which I found super interesting.

In my case I will answer question number 2:

What's your favorite genre of movies and why?

I'll probably extend a little (my keyboard was almost crying) with this post so I hope the reading entertains you as best as possible.

Let's go!

PicsArt_03-28-03.05.09.png

My favorite genre is: Terror

Terror in movies has become an incredibly popular genre and occasionally controversial because of the rawness with which it presents the situations of the characters but its main goal I consider, is to tell a story that manages to sharpen your senses through fear (macabre, right?) It may sound very strange but we as human beings have by nature the need to feel the adrenaline and tension in times of anxiety, which explains why we like to get on roller coasters.

For my part I became very fanatical of this genre because I like the tension that makes me feel (oh that's masochistic) and the cinematic maneuvers that filmmakers must do to manage to convey this fear to the viewer. In all its variations whether psychological terror, slasher terror, supernatural terror, etc., the goal is the same: to transport us to a completely different world where emotions are so intense that they feel very real and something that I greatly admire is the effort that must be put when it comes to creating a tape of this genre because it is difficult to manage to successfully transmit that fear to the public.

Some of the tapes that have my admiration for their excellent execution are:

PicsArt_03-28-03.04.05.png

Three friends who go around houses and steal their belongings decide to do their last and greatest job that is stealing from an blind war veteran who lives alone. They think it's going to be simple, but they'll soon find out that getting into that house was the worst mistake of their lives.

This film is from the subgenre of psychological terror, it is excellently made by its story twists and bleak atmosphere, the particular thing is that it does not need screamers just by noticing the terror reflected in the face of the protagonists is enough to keep us at the edge of the seat and without breathing.

I saw it for the first time a few years ago and I disconnected from the rest of the world because I was attached to the screen, my shoulders were tightening and containing my breathing for every scene, it is a film that I think is amazing.

A girl begins to worry about her younger brother when he tells her that their mother, who suffers from depression, seems to be speaking alone and keeps all the house lights off so she decides to investigate in depth what is happening. Perhaps what she discover will be something more evil than a simple paranoia.

Now this film if it is supernatural horror inspired by a short film of the same name, for me it is simply terrifying because the main element is something as common as darkness and is that we have all at some point felt terror at the thought that something strange is hiding when the lights go out and everything goes dark. This tape exploits that fear by showing that there it is anything watching in the shadows, with well-executed screamers and a very macabre story that does not fall into the exaggeration.

This film had me turning my eyes in all directions of the screen, I wanted to be aware that nothing took me by surprise but I always failed, that's what I liked the most than despite knowing that it has screamers they kept surprising me and scaring me.

I hope you liked my post and entertained you, I was really inspired when writing on this subject because I am a super fan of horror, mystery and suspense genre and for that reason I felt the need to write at least a small part of everything that goes through my mind regarding the subject.

I invite you to join this contest that helps us get our most creative side out using our own tastes and inspiration to make us more active in the community and hive, take out that creative vein that we carry inside and let it flow!

These 2 movies were awesome I remember watching them both over a short period of time some years ago. I was quite hyped about Lights Out and it was good enough in my opinion. Talking about horror movies from recent years, have you seen It Follows? It's great too.

It Follows? Hmmm I haven't watched it, the title it's kind of familiar but I'll take the recommendation and look for it because I don't have any new movies to enjoy recently so this is perfect. Thank you for reading!

¡Me encantó No respires!

¡Saludos!
