El Faro una obra grandiosa al simbolismo y al detalle, es como resumiría esta gran película del 2019, son tantas las cosas que podemos decir de esta obra que para mí ya es considerada de culto, una muestra de que se sigue haciendo excelente cine y adicional de un buen cine de horror.
The Lighthouse is a great work of symbolism and detail, as I would summarize this great film of 2019, there are so many things we can say about this work that for me is already considered a cult, a sign that continues to make excellent cinema and additional good horror films.

¿Que es el Faro? Es una película bastante peculiar sobre terror psicológico del joven director Robert Eggers, quien realizo su opera prima The Witch en el 2016 la cual fue muy bien recibida por la crítica, y que ahora con The Lighthouse quiere llevar a otro nivel lo logrado con el anterior film. La historia nos pone en la piel de dos actorazos de primer nivel William Defoe Y Robert Pattison, en la cual interpretan a Thomas Wake un viejo bastante irritante y desesperante, veterano cuidador de faro y su ayudante de momento el joven Ephraim Winslow quien pierde su trabajo y que decide ganarse la vida de buena manera con este, Juntos son alojados en una isla semi desierta cerca de las costas de Nueva Inglaterra en el 1800 al cuidado de un faro, en donde esta isla alberga muchos secretos la cuales todo se resume al misterioso Faro.
What is the Lighthouse? It is a quite peculiar film about psychological terror by young director Robert Eggers who made his debut opera The Witch in 2016 which was very well received by the critics, and now with The Lighthouse wants to take what was achieved with the previous film to another level. The story puts us in the shoes of two top-level actors William Defoe And Robert Pattison in which they play Thomas Wake a rather irritating and desperate old man, veteran lighthouse keeper and his assistant for the time being young Ephraim Winslow who loses his job and decides to make a good living from it, together they are housed on a semi-desert island off the coast of New England in 1800 in the care of a lighthouse, where this island holds many secrets which all boils down to the mysterious Lighthouse.

This film for me is one of the most difficult to analyze and create a review, it is a film that has many different nuances and different interpretations of what it really is, so I will try to give my opinion based on what I was able to observe and research regarding this masterpiece, let's start with praising the technical aspect of the film that unfortunately did not receive any high caliber awards, the sound part, everyone who saw this story is inverted in the visual and auditory experience, makes you feel in a film of the 30s, with brutal ambient sounds that rumble in our ears, in addition to the characteristic sound of the Lighthouse that disturbs the patience of the protagonists of history and to us as a spectator.
Este film para mí es de los más difícil de analizar y de crear una reseña, es una película que tiene muchos matices distintos y diferentes interpretaciones de lo que realmente es, así que intentare dar mi opinión basándonos en lo que pude observar e investigar con respecto a esta obra maestra, comencemos con elogiar el aspecto técnico de la película que lamentablemente no recibió ninguna premiación de alto calibre, el apartado del sonido, todo el que vio esta historia queda inverso en la experiencia tanto visual como auditiva, te hace sentir en una película de los años 30, con sonidos ambientes brutales que retumban en nuestros oídos, además del característico sonido del Faro que perturba la paciencia de los protagonista de la historia y a nosotros como espectador.
El apartado visual está pulido en todos los ámbitos, la película está grabada en blanco y negro permitiendo no solo sentirnos que estamos viendo cine de la época, sino también ese grado de oscuridad que trasmite la historia que vemos, otro aspecto al destacar es la utilización de la relación de aspecto en que fue grabado el largometraje el cual fue de 1:19:1 algo que pocas veces se han realizado en cine, este encuadre nos hace sentir el asfixia que es estar atrapado sin poder hacer nada al respecto. Antes de hablar un poco de la trama y actores, intentare evitar en menor grado.
The visual section is polished in all areas, the film is recorded in black and white allowing us not only to feel that we are watching movies of the time, but also that degree of darkness that conveys the story we see, another aspect to highlight is the use of the aspect ratio in which the film was recorded which was 1:19:1 something that has rarely been done in film, this frame makes us feel the suffocation that is being trapped without being able to do anything about it. Before talking a little bit about the plot and actors, I will try to avoid to a lesser extent
Vale hablemos de los actores y lo que significan para el film, esta película habla más que todo de la locura y lo que se va creando a partir de una sensación de soledad, Ephraim “ Robert Pattison” es una persona que lo atormenta su oscuro pasado, esto lo carcome por dentro y hace que poco a poco se vuelva loco como su contraparte Thomas “William Defoe” que es la personificación de la locura, la cual lo llevo todos esos años de cuidado al faro que oculta secretos y horrores, esto se lo trasmite a Ephraim y hace que esté involucrado también, por cierto cabe mencionar que William Defoe hace el mejor papel el cual lo he visto sin duda, como sus expresiones, su tono de voz todo lo que representa hasta sus diálogos te metan ese terror psicológico que quiere llevar al cabo la película.
Okay, let's talk about the actors and what they mean to the film, this film talks mostly about madness and what is created from a sense of loneliness, Ephraim "Robert Pattison" is a person who torments his dark past, this eats him up inside and makes him gradually go crazy like his counterpart Thomas "William Defoe" who is the epitome of madness, which took him all those years of care to the lighthouse that hides secrets and horrors, this transmits it to Ephraim and makes it involved too, by the way it is worth mentioning that William Defoe plays the best role which I have seen without a doubt, as their expressions, their tone of voice everything that represents to their dialogues put you that psychological terror that wants to carry out the film.
Probablemente al final quedes confundido y perdido, pero es la sensación que te quiere llevar la película, que quedemos tan locos como nuestros protagonistas en la historia, existen miles de interpretaciones para el final, temas con representaciones a la mitóloga griega, con el tema de la religión, una locura producida que nos lleva a algo que no es real y todo sea parte de la imaginación de Ephraim, hasta una especie de tensión homoeróticas, un sinfín de cosas que nos deja la película que de verdad me fascino de pies a cabeza dando sin duda una calificación de...
