El cine Coreano ha venido creciendo los últimos años con producciones que han traspasados las fronteras de dicho país, Parasite fue la ultima gran obra maestra de estas tierras, la cual para mi es una de las mejores peliculas por lo menos en los últimos cinco años, para esta ocasión y aprovechando este bum llega Minari, una cinta que si bien en cuanto a la historia es totalmente distinta a parasite, si se respira ese estilo de dirección al estilo de Bong Joon-ho, en esta película veremos un drama de lo que es vivir en el extranjero y sobre todo de la familia, una película que pintaba para ser mucho explosiva por como se va formando la historia , pero que se convierte más bien en tintes sutiles y pausado; Sin mas que hablarles comencemos.

Esta es una obra inspiradora que toca el tema de la familia con mucha sutileza y detalle, tenemos una familia que llega como inmigrante a los Estados Unidos, con la finalidad principal de conseguir el sueño americano, muchas peliculas he visto que manejan este tema pero casi siempre con la mirada de mexicanos o latinos que intenta ingresar a este país, esta vez tenemos una familia coreana algo que ya de por si es único, ya que culturalmente son países muy distintos, y tanto en creencias como costumbres son muy dispares, durante la película vemos la interacción entre la familia, como lidian con su pobreza y con todas las eventualidades que les acontece durante la historia.

This is an inspiring work that touches the theme of the family with much subtlety and detail, we have a family that arrives as immigrants to the United States, with the main purpose of achieving the American dream, many movies I have seen that handle this theme but almost always with the look of Mexicans or Latinos trying to enter this country, This time we have a Korean family, something that in itself is unique, since culturally they are very different countries, and both in beliefs and customs are very different, during the film we see the interaction between the family, how they deal with their poverty and all the eventualities that happens to them during the story.

Me gusta mucho la interacción entre la familia, si bien los padres están en una constante batalla campal, son consciente de su situación y a pesar de las adversidades están juntos para tenerse del uno al otro, existe un factor importante que funciona como eje de la trama y es la enfermedad del corazón que posee el niño, debo admitir que el niño interpretado por Alam Kim es muy buena para ser un pequeño crio, ya que con actitudes infantiles, traviesas y con ganas de divertirse a su vez se siente frustrado por su enfermedad y el estilo de vida que lleva, el Padre Jacob “Steven Yeun” conocido por ser Gleen en The Walking Dead, tiene una actuación digna para la nominación a mejor actor este año, si bien para mi gusto no es lo que mas destaca en la película, realiza un papel excelente, mostrándonos esa faceta de padre que quiere sacar adelante a su familia a toda costa, pero con una obsesión peligrosa por cumplir un deseo inconcluso esto podría llevar a la pobreza de su familia; Y por ultimo la reina del Show, la encargada de darle humor a este film que es la abuela interpretada por Youn Yuh-jung, una abuela astuta, divertida y cariñosa que llega a llenar de alma su hogar, si bien la interacción con la familia es un poco seca al principio, más con el pequeño David, poco a poco se gana su confianza y es cómplice gracias a esto a que el niño encuentre un respiro y felicidad que lo ayudaría con su enfermedad.

I really like the interaction between the family, although the parents are in a constant battle, they are aware of their situation and despite the adversities are together to have each other, there is an important factor that works as the axis of the plot and is the heart disease that the child has, I must admit that the child played by Alam Kim is very good to be a little kid, because with childish attitudes, Father Jacob "Steven Yeun" known for being Gleen in The Walking Dead, has a performance worthy of a nomination for best actor this year, although for my taste is not what stands out most in the film, he plays an excellent role, showing us that side of a father who wants to move his family forward at all costs, but with a dangerous obsession to fulfill an unfinished wish that could lead to poverty in his family; And finally the queen of the show, the one in charge of giving humor to this film who is the grandmother played by Youn Yuh-jung, a cunning, funny and loving grandmother who comes to fill her home with soul, although the interaction with the family is a little dry at first, more with little David, gradually wins their trust and is an accomplice thanks to this that the child finds a respite and happiness that would help him with his illness.

La película en el aspecto técnico me parece muy bien lograda y como lo dije al comienzo de la review, me recuerda a parasite aunque las historias son muy distintas, la edición y los juegos de colores me parece excelente, además de que cuenta con un guion simple pero inteligente, el aprecio de los detalles son muy marcados, en cada escena toman en consideración la localización y a los actores uniéndolo en uno, para asi crear esa la misma sensación que viven los protagonista, y con esto trasmitirla al espectador, escenas como la del niño y la abuela yendo al riachuelo lejos de la casa de los Yi, allí podemos ver esta interacción con el escenario y en donde aquí nace el nombre de esta película.

The film in the technical aspect seems to me very well done and as I said at the beginning of the review, it reminds me of Parasite although the stories are very different, the editing and color games seem excellent, plus it has a simple but intelligent script, the appreciation of the details are very marked, in each scene they take into consideration the location and the actors joining them in one, to create the same sensation that the protagonists live, and with this transmit it to the spectator, scenes like the child and the grandmother going to the creek far from the Yi's house, there we can see this interaction with the scenery and where the name of this film is born.
