La semana pasada fui con mi novia al cine y terminamos viendo la película de las brujas, el refrito de la versión noventera que me dio miedo de pequeño y al mismo tiempo uno de mis filmes favoritos de culto y a la conclusión que llegué con esta nueva versión, es que no vale la pena verla. Una vez más esta cinta demuestra que un remake puede ser una pésima idea cuando no haces nada bien.
Last week I went with my girlfriend to the movies and we ended up watching the witches' movie, the rehash of the novena version that scared me as a child and at the same time one of my favorite cult movies and the conclusion I came to with this new version is that it is not worth watching. Once again this film shows that a remake can be a terrible idea when you don't do anything right.
En 1990 cuando no se contaba con una alta tecnología para hacer animaciones en computadora, los encargados de los efectos especiales, maquillaje y personal competente se las ingeniaban para hacer que todo se sintiera tan real al momento de verlo. Eso podemos verlo como ejemplo en el maquillaje al caracterizar a cada una de las brujas pero sobre todo a la líder de todas ellas donde se tenía que mostrar como la más terrorífica, sin embargo en su versión actual, se prefiere más por el CGI.

Usar CGI no está nada mal cuando se sabe utilizar, pero en el caso de este remake de “Las brujas” es tan evidente su uso, además que se abusa tanto de este recurso que terminas perdiendo la inmersión de la película, eso si, no puedo negar que hay momentos (muy contados) en que se utiliza bien, pero de cada momento en que se usa bien este recurso, hay otros diez que se nota de forma evidente.
Using CGI is not bad at all when you know how to use it, but in the case of this remake of "The witchers" its use is so evident, besides that you abuse this resource so much that you end up losing the immersion of the movie, but I can't deny that there are moments (very few) in which it is used well, but from each moment in which this resource is used well, there are other ten that you notice in an evident way.
Otro problema fue nuestro pequeño protagonista el actor Jahzir Bruno el cual aún debe pulir mucho su actuación, pero hay que darle crédito considerando que es su primer largometraje en el que no solo le dio vida en su forma humana a nuestro pequeño héroe, sino que también le dio voz a su forma de ratón una vez que fue convertido por las brujas.
Another problem was our little protagonist the actor Jahzir Bruno who still has to polish up his acting a lot, but we have to give him credit considering that it is his first feature film in which he not only gave life in his human form to our little hero, but also gave voice to his mouse form once he was converted by the witches.
Por último tampoco me gusto este final ambiguo (que si quisiera ponerme conspiranoico pareciera que lo dejan abierto para una posible secuela) a comparación del cierre de su versión homóloga noventera

Desde mi perspectiva como un adulto de 29 años puedo decir que han matado una vez más un clásico de mi infancia, pero entiendo que esta película está diseñada para un público infantil que pueda crecer con esta nueva generación, incluso optaron por un aspecto “cómico” que terrorífico para el film, sin embargo si tuviera que mostrarle esta pelicula a mi sobrina aun asi me inclinaria por su versión noventera (si lo se, será el encargado de generar traumas a mi sobrina)
From my perspective as a 29 year old adult I can say that they have killed once again a classic of my childhood, but I understand that this film is designed for a child audience that can grow up with this new generation, they even opted for a "funny" aspect that is terrifying for the film, however if I had to show this film to my niece I would still be inclined to its novena version (if I know, it will be the one that will generate traumas to my niece)
