El mundo literario puede cambiar la vida de una persona, y hacer que todo su entorno se convierta en diferentes momentos y perspectivas, incluso puede narrarte un mundo diferente del cómo solías ver las cosas ante la imposición de la sociedad.

The literary world can change a person's life, and make your whole environment become different moments and perspectives, it can even tell you a different world from how you used to see things before the imposition of society.

Las personas están dispuestas a hacer lo que sea con tal de tener la libertad, mucho más cuando esta condición humana a la cual todos tienen derecho se les arrebata.

People are willing to do anything to have freedom, especially when this human condition to which everyone is entitled is taken away from them.

En el caso de esta película, la libertad de unas cuantas personas se ve comprometida por la guerra, en el cual la invasión de los Alemanes les cambia completamente la vida, incluso el bienestar en cuanto a la salud ya que les arrebatan casi todo lo que tenga que ver carbohidratos, en especial la carne de cochino.

In the case of this film, the freedom of a few people is compromised by the war, in which the invasion of the Germans completely changes their lives, even their wellbeing in terms of health, since they are deprived of almost everything that has to do with carbohydrates, especially pork.

Las escenas de flashback, son muy importantes en esta película, porque cuentan el dolor y la razón por la cual las personas toman sus decisiones inclusive el camino, que en este caso es el literario. La guerra es el principal enemigo de la vida de estas personas que viven en un pueblo costero con bajo recursos, y donde las personas tienen que estar constantemente reinventándose para poder sobrevivir, una reinvención que la mayoría de las veces los Alemanes lo ven como algo ilegal.

The flashback scenes are very important in this film, because they tell the pain and the reason why people make their decisions including the path, which in this case is the literary one. The war is the main enemy of the lives of these people who live in a coastal town with low resources, and where people have to be constantly reinventing themselves in order to survive, a reinvention that most of the time the Germans see as something illegal.

Las personas no están acostumbradas a que entiendan cómo se sienten, incluso que comprendan porque sus personalidades están de cierto modo corruptas ante tanto dolor, sin embargo, en esta película una mujer amante de la literatura encuentra una cura para estas personas que han sufrido el dolor de la pérdida y de los efectos colaterales de la guerra.

People are not used to understand how they feel, even understand why their personalities are somehow corrupted by so much pain, however, in this film a woman lover of literature finds a cure for these people who have suffered the pain of loss and the side effects of war.

Pero a su vez, ella obtiene una paz, al aplicar esa empatía y conocer personas que resguardaron su dolor y lo expresaron en los libros, en el caso de ella como escritora, y en el caso de ellos en un club de lectura que nació de una forma extraña, pero que consiguieron esa paz que necesitaban, un escape a la realidad que estaban enfrentado tras cruzar las puertas de sus casas.

But at the same time, she obtains peace, by applying that empathy and meeting people who have kept their pain and expressed it in books, in her case as a writer, and in their case in a book club that was born in a strange way, but they got the peace they needed, an escape from the reality they were facing after crossing the doors of their homes.

Pero esta película no solo trata de lo que ha dejado la guerra, sino también de la valentía que tienen las personas por defender sus principios, pensamientos y lo que es correcto.

But this film is not only about what the war has left behind, but also about the courage that people have to defend their own principles, thoughts and what is right.

Además de ello tiene un valor agregado de pasión y amor, donde una mujer que no se da por vencida consigue obtener no sólo paz, sino que consigue el lugar donde ella pertenece, una familia y una nueva forma de vivir que no sea ostentosa.

It also has an added value of passion and love, where a woman who does not give up gets not only peace, but gets the place where she belongs, a family and a new way of living that is not ostentatious.
