Review of "The Queen's Gambit" - Legend of Chess

We talk about mathematicians and their amazing discoveries and laws.

But here we have in the series a special genius of a girl who transformed her life into another life thanks to her intelligence and genius, which she discovered by pure chance. She was not doing research or learning much, but she found her way.

These types of series are not very present, but they are a genius new genre that won my admiration, so you will be surprised by my review of the series below.

The Queen's Gambit, an American drama series produced by Netflix and directed by Scott Frank, presented us with a new masterpiece added to the world of international drama throughout history.

Our heroine in this series is the star Anya Taylor, who shone in this series to write herself a new page in the world of acting, but what about the story of the series?

The story

The movie talks about a poor 8-year-old girl before a big tragedy happened to her. Her mother dies in an accident and is transferred to an orphanage, where the girl’s life turns into a tragic life.
And her life continues in severe isolation and oppression in the orphanage until something completely different happens to her, where in the midst of her isolation and fear, she watches a guard playing chess, she marvels at this game to decide to learn it, and from here begins a new life story for our heroine.

Where she becomes a very genius at the game of chess and begins her life from this point to the march of global professionalism after the difficult circumstances of her life in the orphanage.

Impression

The series does not talk all the time about chess games and so on, but the series is dramatic, as it tells us about the story of the little girl, her upbringing, her life circumstances, all of that from friends, relationships and after her adoption even after fame.

But watching chess matches will be the height of fun and excitement in a dazzling way, as the director will dazzle you with the visual performance and the enthusiastic music that will make you live in the atmosphere of excitement with great difficulty, even if you do not know in the game of chess or practice it in terms of hobby, you live excitement like the last minutes in the World Cup final and you will be encouraged as if you bet Get that girl with all your money.

The classic photography of the series, hair styles and hats are all those simple touches that gave the series a special atmosphere that sticks in the mind of the viewer forever, and it is one of the geniuses of the wonderful Scott Frank, who was able to communicate his story in an impressive way.

Directing and performance

The series was written and directed by Scott Frank, and he excelled in both ways, as being the writer of the story, he was able to reach us in directing excellently.
And he managed to produce the series for us in the best way in terms of sophistication and comfort for the eye, as well as dazzling us in many scenes with wonderful visuals and sounds.

Actress Anya Taylor, although she presented many works, including Split, but she excelled herself in this series and was creative and mastered the role well.
She has excelled in everything in the details of her personal life, fame and her relationship with people, and we noticed that in her performance at every stage of her life, from when she was obscure and even fame.

It is remarkable in the performance of Anya Taylor that she was not nave, but enjoyed calm and patience, and there are genius figures.

The performance escalated to the great ending, which cemented the efforts of all the actors who finally gave the film the gold cover and medal it deserved.

The series is short, it consists of 7 episodes, but I consider it one of the best series of 2020.
