Mimi- A hit or miss?

After getting some spare time yesterday's evening I ran to watch Netflix. Wondering which movies should be watched since I cannot give commitment to a series due to lack of free time.
No.1 in India for now was Mimi! A two and a half hours long movie which was just perfect for me to binge watch.

The movie was released recently on ott platform Netflix and jio cinema. Gaining major likes this movie turned out to be a hit. A comedy- drama film which is directed by Laxman Utekar and his team.
Plot
The theme of the movie is surrogacy and stories revolving around it. A foreigner couple who had aspiration of having a surrogate since they couldn't conceive and they were seeking to have a healthy women to carry their child. In a hurdle to find one they came across a driver (who was played by Pankaj Tripathi- an outstanding actor) . The driver made many tricks and plans to search a fit girl. During which they found mimi (Played by Kriti Sanon) Mimi was aspiring actress and dancer who wanted to enter Bollywood but lack of money made her constrained to dancing only.
She agreed on lots of money the couple played her to become surrogate. She didn't told her conservative family about surrogacy since this term was new & unacceptable in small town.
Most of her pregnancy she stayed at her friend Shama's home in disguise.

Every thing was going as planned till the doctor during her routine check up revealed that the baby is down syndrome. The movie took a turn from there and then. The couple fled back to their country considering the baby is mentally retarded they gave up on him and left without considering the condition of surrogate mimi.

The best part
Actually the best / emotional part is when mimi gives birth to the baby anyways and takes care of the child after facing all the circumstances and even she left her dream of becoming an actress.

everyone around accepted the condition and loved the kid from their heart just when that american couple returned and asked for teh baby back after 4 years of abandonees.
Now how the emotional turmoil took the twists and turn is the best part to watch. I won't reveal much of the best part but the acting, emotions and love you have to feel by watching the movie.

Casting

Kuddos to everyone in the movie they actually did amazing job. This movie was meant to be not romantic but having a motherly love for the child.
Lead actress Kriti Sanon did great job, She even gained lots of weight for the2nd half of the movie. Another lead Pankaj tripathi played such a nice role as bhanu the driver who was innocent man. rest the casting was really known people of industry from mother to grandmother.
The kid was a scotish child who played the role really well. Considering his tender age.

My take away from the movie
Honestly the first half was not to exciting but the story took a high peak by the second half I donot cry easily but I have to admit that I shed two- three tears during the parting part It was actually beautiful and satisfactory with wonderful ending.
A comedy -drama film which stood up well.
I would like to rate 8.5 /10
And it's a Hit!

Let me know if you have already watched or are planning to watch it.

It looks like it tackles a very touching subject. I want to see it, it will surely make me shed some tears too.
I read an article in the Times talking about surrogate mothers in India. I didn't know that many women do it. It is legal, but it seems they want to ban it, from what I have been able to research they are trying to pass a law banning the commercial use of surrogate mothers.
Interesting, I learned something new for me , about that country, I will look for the movie to watch.
