Synopsis
Story begins with Yukihira Soma, a boy who wants to work with her father in Yukihira, their family restaurant, but his father, Yohichiro, decided to close the restaurant because he wants to travel around the world to learn more about different types of cuisine, but Soma wants to keep open the restaurant so Yoichiro dares Yukihira, if he can be the best student of Totsuki, the most important cooking school on the world, he can inherit the restaurant.
He thinks it is an easy dare, but when he goes to Totsuki, he discovers only the 10% of the students pass to the second year, but he is ready to do whatever he must do to manage the family restaurant. So he will attack with all he has, he will make interesting friends, will learn new things about cooking and will win versus some chefs using his techniques and his ingenuity.
What do I think about this anime?
Shokugeki no Soma is a comedy anime, I laughed a lot, also is ecchi so it helps to make it funnier. It counts as a school drama anime, so you will find those typic scenes about love, two or three girls falling in love with the protagonist. But, I think this anime also is original, because you can find recipes of how to make a dish and a short step by step, you will find tips that are useful in the kitchen and an original comedy talking about food.
Also, you can get attached to the characters, I think everybody in Shokugeki no Soma has their own charisma, and the development of the characters is big and notorious, therefore is catching.
I think it could be better in some aspects, but I feel it special anyways.

I think the anime is OK. I watch it 50% for food, 50% for the reaction of people eating the food.
I wish people react like that in real life especially when I cook for women.
Watched the first season and it just didn't hook me enough to watch further. Trying Attack On Titan.
