TeneT - Film Review [ESP/ENG]
Diferencias en el flujo del tiempo influirá en una historia llena de espías en donde el futuro asecha con destruir al mundo del presente... "TeneT".
Christopher Nolan debe ser uno de los directores y guionistas que más he admirado en los últimos 20 años, la única película que no he visto es justamente su primer film "Following" (1998), pero desde "Memento" sentí fascinación por la forma en que hace cine y de cómo usa el tiempo para poder contar una historia, esto es un tema recurrente en muchos de sus films, el tiempo, puede usar flashback, la duración del tiempo, como pasa el tiempo en un sueño, como puede afectar el tiempo en la mente y físico de un héroe enmascarado, como usa diferentes líneas temporales o diferentes puntos de vista en un mismo instante para contar una historia o como el flujo del tiempo puede ayudarnos a salvar a millones de personas, en realidad es algo que hasta se pudiera estudiar en como el tiempo es un protagonista que no puede faltar en las historias hecha por este gran director; en su último film estrenado el año pasado puedo decir que era una de las películas que más había esperado y por todo lo sucedido con la pandemia, hizo que existiera cierta ansiedad y después resignación al no poder disfrutar este último trabajo como debe ser, en una sala de cine, pero igual eso no minimizo el hecho de que pudiera ver lo que esperaba fuera una gran película.

Christopher Nolan must be one of the directors and screenwriters I have admired the most in the last 20 years, the only film I haven't seen is precisely his first film "Following" (1998), but since "Memento" I felt fascinated by the way he makes movies and how he uses time to tell a story, this is a recurring theme in many of his films, he can use flashback, the duration of time, how time passes in a dream, how time can affect the mind and physique of a masked hero, how he uses different timelines or different points of view in the same instant to tell a story or how the flow of time can help us save millions of people, in fact it is something that could even be studied in how time is a protagonist that can not be missing in the stories made by this great director; in his last film released last year I can say that it was one of the films I had most expected and because of everything that happened with the pandemic, made there was some anxiety and then resignation at not being able to enjoy this last work as it should be, in a movie theater, but still that did not minimize the fact that I could see what I expected to be a great movie.
TeneT nos relata la historia de un agente de la CIA conocido como "El Protagonista" quien será reclutado por una organización secreta llamada "TeneT", los cuales tiene como misión prevenir una nueva guerra y para eso deberán recuperar un artefacto que podrá ser parte del fin del mundo, pero esta no será una misión normal ya que existirá un factor importante como es el cambio del flujo en el tiempo, objetos y momentos en específico sufrirán inversiones en el tiempo y esto podrá afectar el desenlace final poniendo a prueba todos nuestras creencias, pero más que nada en quien confiamos.
TeneT tells the story of a CIA agent known as "The Protagonist" who will be recruited by a secret organization called "TeneT", whose mission is to prevent a new war and for that they must recover an artifact that may be part of the end of the world, but this will not be a normal mission because there will be an important factor such as changing the flow in time, objects and specific moments will suffer reversals in time and this may affect the final outcome testing all our beliefs, but most of all in whom we trust.
Nolan siguiendo su sueño en realizar películas sobre espionaje, ha creado una llena de acción y ciencia-ficción, un film lleno de clichés que siempre vemos en este tipo de films, más que nada en los de "James Bond", con esto no quiero hacer que esta historia no tenga ninguna complicación en su entendimiento ni mucho menos porque como dije anteriormente, el factor del tiempo es algo que no puede faltar en las historias hechas por este director y aquí tiene un protagonismo muy importante, creo que pudo pensar como hablar del tiempo sin usar "los viajes en el tiempo", primeramente creo que esto es algo que de seguro pensó para dar un toque de originalidad a esta historia, usar el término de "inversión" para que personajes puedan experimentar un retroceso en el tiempo y podamos ver como las líneas temporales se encuentren entre si e interactuar entre ellas, creo que justamente todo esto hace muy especial este film y me sorprende que muchas personas digan que es un film fácil de entender, para mi es una historia (como todas las de Nolan) que esta llenas de detalles y que siempre debemos prestar atención a cada escena y dialogo que veremos; mi experiencia con "TeneT" puedo decir que sentí lo mismo al ver "Looper" (2013), película dirigida por Rian Johnson que también es un film de ciencia-ficción, acción y viajes en el tiempo, existe una escena en este film en donde nos invita a dejar las teorías para después y enfocarnos en el momento, creo que era el principal consejo del director para que nosotros como espectador disfrutemos de la película y después podemos reventarnos la mente con teorías, este consejo lo aplique con este nuevo film, me enfoque en la cinematografía, la música, coreografía en las escenas de acción y después a pensar en todos los detalles y teorías.
Nolan following his dream in making films about espionage, has created a story full of action and science fiction, a film full of clichés that we always see in this kind of films, more than anything in "James Bond" films, with this I do not want to make this story has no complications in its understanding or much less because as I said before, the time factor is something that can not miss in the stories made by this director and here has a very important role, I think he could think how to talk about time without using "time travel", first of all I think this is something that he surely thought to give a touch of originality to this story, using the term "inversion" so that characters can experience a backward in time and we can see how the timelines meet each other and interact with each other, I think all this makes this film very special and I am surprised that many people say it is an easy to understand film, for me it is a story (like all Nolan's) that is full of details and that we must always pay attention to every scene and dialogue that we will see; my experience with "TeneT" I can say that I felt the same when watching "Looper" (2013), film directed by Rian Johnson which is also a sci-fi, action and time travel film, there is a scene in this film where he invites us to leave the theories for later and focus on the moment, I think it was the main advice of the director for us as viewers to enjoy the film and then we can burst our minds with theories, I applied this advice with this new film, I focus on the cinematography, music, choreography in the action scenes and then think about all the details and theories.
Las actuaciones creo que para muchos es el punto más débil de este film, el más señalado es justamente quien es "El Protagonista" interpretado por John David Washington; para mí su trabajo no es malo por cómo está escrito su personaje en este film y la importancia que tiene para esta historia, no quiero caer en hacer spoilers, pero TeneT es diferente a lo que siempre hemos visto en películas sobre el uso del tiempo en donde algunas veces vemos como un personaje del futuro regresar al pasado para de alguna forma ayudar a su versión pasada a arreglar algo que justamente le afectara en el futuro, puedo decir que esto no sucede tan directamente en este film y eso puede afectar a como percibimos a este personaje en la mayoría del tiempo, en lo personal a mí me gustó mucho de su trabajo, ya he visto a este actor en la serie de HBO "Ballers" y en el film "BlacKkKlansman" y creo que en ambas producciones hizo un buen trabajo y esta vez creo que lo hace bien, interpreta a un agente que cree que saber todo en su campo de trabajo, pero mientras transcurre la misión ira descubriendo la importancia de todo lo que hace aunque siempre tendrá la disyuntiva de hacer lo correcto o no; las demás actuaciones de los personajes principales como "Neil" interpretado por Robert Pattinson; "Kat" interpretado por Elizabeth Debicki y "Sator" interpretado por Kenneth Branagh, son personajes muy importantes para esta historia, resalto el trabajo tanto de Debicki como el de Branagh, me pareció excelente porque ambos muestran el drama de vivir en una relación toxica, en donde uno necesita mostrar siempre el poder y dominio y la otra parte empieza a mostrar convicción y fuerza para liberarse de una peligrosa relación, esto le da más suspenso y a pesar de entrar a un cliché visto en películas sobre espías, creo que está todo bien hecho.
The performances is for many is the weakest link in this film, the most pointed out is just who is "The Protagonist" played by John David Washington; for me his work is not bad because of how his character is written in this film and the importance he has for this story, I don't want to fall into making spoilers, but TeneT is different from what we have always seen in movies about the use of time where sometimes we see how a character from the future return to the past to somehow help his past version to fix something that will affect him in the future, I can say that this does not happen so directly in this film and that can affect how we perceive this character in most of the time, I personally liked a lot of his work, I have already seen this actor in the HBO series "Ballers" and in the film "BlacKkKlansman" and I think in both productions he did a good job and this time I think he does it well, he plays an agent who thinks he knows everything in his field of work, but as the mission goes on he will discover the importance of everything he does although he will always have the dilemma of doing the right thing or not; the other performances of the main characters such as "Neil" played by Robert Pattinson; "Kat" played by Elizabeth Debicki and "Sator" played by Kenneth Branagh, are very important characters for this story, I highlight the work of both Debicki and Branagh, I thought it was excellent because both show the drama of living in a toxic relationship, where one needs to always show power and dominance and the other party begins to show conviction and strength to break free from a dangerous relationship, this gives it more suspense and despite entering a cliché seen in movies about spies, I think it's all well done.
A pesar de que este film no está en mi top tres de películas hechas por Nolan, debo decir que no me siento decepcionado ni mucho menos, TeneT es un excelente film, me gustó mucho su historia y sus personajes, me gusta como este director y guionista busca añadir algo nuevo a todo este asunto del uso del tiempo, que se use en algo tan trillado como es "Salvar al Mundo" y que de igual forma pueda ser emocionante en muchos aspectos, me gusta el uso de la música porque le da mucha fuerza a las muy buenas escenas de acción, las coreografías vistas me hicieron recordar mucho a las vistas en "Inception" y es que ambas películas tienen un parecido en su desarrollo, escenas en exteriores, el uso del tiempo, agentes secretos buscando obtener algo que podrá salvar al mundo, la importancia de la música, creo que es por eso que muchos fans pensaron que ambos films pertenecen a un mismo universo; en lo personal he disfrutado las dos veces que he visto este film y sé que en algún momento la volveré a ver, difiero con muchas personas que piensan lo necesario de una secuela, yo creo que por lo que quiere contar es perfecta y si llegaran a hacer otra más, espero que sea una historia diferente envolviendo a otros personajes y siguiendo explorando ese mundo en donde el tiempo es invertido. Espero que puedan ver este film, disfrute de la historia, cinematografía, de las buenas escenas de acción y presten atención a los detalles y si ya la vieron, entonces pueden pasar por los comentarios y dejar sus teorías.
Although this film is not in my top three films made by Nolan, I must say that I am not disappointed, TeneT is an excellent film, I really liked its story and characters, I like how this director and screenwriter seeks to add something new to the whole issue of the use of time, which is used in something as trite as "Saving the World" and that can be exciting in many ways, I like the use of music because it gives a lot of strength to the very good action scenes, the choreographies seen reminded me a lot of those seen in "Inception" and both films have a similar development, outdoor scenes, the use of time, secret agents looking for something that can save the world, the importance of music, I think that's why many fans thought that both films belong to the same universe; Personally I have enjoyed the two times I have seen this film and I know that at some point I will see it again, I differ with many people who think that a sequel is necessary, I think that for what it wants to tell is perfect and if they were to make another one, I hope it will be a different story involving other characters and continuing to explore that world where time is invested. Desde Widows me ha impresionado esa mujer y si viejo imagino que debe medir 1,80, pero eso no importa. Me gustó que Nolan no le importa la diferencia de altura con los demás actores y siempre tenían escenas uno al frente uno del otro.

Loved Memento, the whole premise with the tattoo providing clues to amnesia was done so well and was original. Christopher Nolan is one of those screenwriters who always delivers something unique and puzzling.

Memento is one of the best films I have seen, the writing is excellent. About TeneT I will tell you that it is an entertaining film, the cinematography is the best and my advice is to pay attention to dialogues that explain what happens in this story, otherwise you can relax and enjoy the action scenes.

No se la razón pero esta película me recuerda a la serie "los viajeros" en netflix, voy a tener que verla para ver si coincido con lo que estoy pensando.
Ahora tendre que ver la serie de Los Viajeros de Netflix 😂, creo que a pesar de que Nolan trata de no hacer una típica película sobre viajeros del tiempo, igual siempre habrá similitudes con otras películas o series ya vistas.
