Cuando vi la sinopsis oficial y los actores de verdad no sabía que esperar, imaginaba un desastre de proporciones gigantes, pues imaginemos a Mel Gibson como un Santa Claus muy badass, que además tiene problemas económicos por la realidad en la que vivimos y no puede sacar a flote su taller de juguetes, muy difícil verdad.

When I saw the official synopsis and the real actors I did not know what to expect, I imagined a disaster of gigantic proportions, well imagine Mel Gibson as a very badass Santa Claus, who also has financial problems due to the reality in which we live and can not get his toy workshop afloat, very difficult indeed.

Pero increíblemente no me pareció de todo un desastre, tiene algunas cosas buenas en la trama que recalcar, aunque la gran mayoría de la película sea una completa locura, siendo lo que más me gustó la sátira a la generación actual y la violencia que vivimos en todo el mundo, imagina a unos niños disparando a Santa, pues ese es un mundo parecido al que ya vivimos.

But incredibly it did not seem like a disaster to me, it has some good things in the plot to emphasize, although the vast majority of the film is complete madness, being what I liked the most the satire of the current generation and the violence that we live in everyone, imagine some children shooting Santa, because that is a world similar to the one we already live in.

La historia nos muestra a un Santa que lucha día a día por mantener su misión y su taller a flote para poder seguir repartiendo regalos y alegría a los niños del mundo, pero por cuestiones burocráticas disminuyen su presupuesto lo que complica mucho su misión.

En el otro extremo de la historia vemos a un niño que aparenta ser bueno, hasta que muestra su verdadero ser, lo que hace que lo odies desde el inicio. Al recibir carbón de regalo de Santa Claus se vuelve loco, por lo que contrata a un asesino a sueldo para que vaya tras Santa y lo mate, resultando que ese asesino muy beneficiosamente tiene una vendetta personal con Chris Cringle (Mel Gibson).

El filme tiene un buen punto a favor y es que se tarda en construir cada uno de sus personajes, para que dentro de la locura de un taller de santa lleno de militares, con los duendes haciendo armas por un contrato entre Chris y el ejército y luego un asesino que dinamita todo y llena todo con balas, no se sienta tan increíblemente sin sentido, ya que conocemos las motivaciones de todos los implicados (lo cual no deja de ser algo totalmente sin sentido).

The film has a good point in its favor and that is that it takes time to build each of its characters, so that within the madness of a santa workshop full of military, with the goblins making weapons for a contract between Chris and the army and then a murderer who dynamites everything and fills everything with bullets, does not feel so incredibly pointless, since we know the motivations of all those involved (which is still totally nonsense).

Lo peor de todo fue el guión y la construcción de la historia, aunque ya dije que se tomaron el tiempo para definir a los personajes, todo transcurre muy lento y soporifero, llegando la acción ya en los minutos finales en un lapso corto, siendo todo muy trepidante, dejándome con ganas de un poco más de acción en el desarrollo de la cinta.

The worst thing of all was the script and the construction of the story, although I already said that they took the time to define the characters, everything happens very slow and soporific, the action arriving in the final minutes in a short period of time, everything being very fast-paced, leaving me wanting a little more action in the development of the film.
