Hoy nuevamente me uno a una iniciativa creada por @littlegremlin. ¿El desafío de hoy? Enlistar en un breve Top 3 aquellos clásicos del cine, estrenados antes de los años 2000, que nos robaron por completo el corazón y que por más tiempo que pase es imposible dejar de verlos.

Seleccionar sólo tres películas es una tarea bastante complicada, hay muchas películas clásicas increíbles que han sabido perdurar en el tiempo alegrando, emocionando, y deleitando a quienes vuelven a verlas, generación tras generación.

Selecting just three films is a rather complicated task, there are many incredible classic films that have managed to endure over time, bringing joy, excitement, and delight to those who return to watch them, generation after generation.

VOLVER AL FUTURO (Trilogía)

(1985 - 1990)
En realidad, esta es una trilogía pero hay que admitir que las tres partes que conforman esta serie cinematográfica son igual de buenas. Cada película de esta trilogía comienza justo en donde termina la anterior, así que prácticamente podemos decir que son tres películas en una (ese es el argumento que usaré para hacer un poco de trampa e incluir esta trilogía en un solo puesto dentro de mi Top). Aunque sí debo de ser sincera y admitir que la Parte II es mi favorita, pero eso ya puede quedar para otro post.
Este clásico de ciencia ficción es mi favorito, desde que vi por primera vez estas películas me enamoré por completo tanto de la historia en general como de cada uno de los personajes. En Volver al Futuro Parte I nos encontramos con Marty McFly, un adolescente de 17 años quien posee una gran amistad con el científico Emmett Brown, al cual apoda cariñosamente como “Doc”.
Actually, this is a trilogy but you have to admit that the three parts that make up this film series are equally good. Each movie in this trilogy starts right where the previous one ends, so we can practically say that they are three movies in one (that's the argument I'll use to cheat a bit and include this trilogy in a single post in my Top). This science fiction classic is my favorite, since I first saw these movies I fell in love with the story in general as well as with each of the characters. In Back to the Future Part I we meet Marty McFly, a 17 year old teenager who has a great friendship with scientist Emmett Brown, whom he affectionately nicknames "Doc".
El Doc roba un cargamento de plutonio a un grupo terrorista Libio para poder construir una máquina del tiempo a partir de un automóvil DeLorean, pero los terroristas dan con su paradero y lo terminan acribillando a balazos en el estacionamiento de un centro comercial. Marty huye a bordo del DeLorean (convertido en máquina del tiempo) y accidentalmente termina viajando 30 años hacia el pasado, a 1955, época en donde sus padres eran adolescentes. Doc steals a shipment of plutonium from a Libyan terrorist group in order to build a time machine out of a DeLorean car, but the terrorists track him down and end up gunning him down in a shopping mall parking lot. Marty flees aboard the DeLorean (converted into a time machine) and accidentally ends up traveling 30 years into the past, to 1955, a time when his parents were teenagers. It is there where endless adventures begin for the boy: he unintentionally sabotages his parents' relationship, so his mission will be to make them fall in love again, and he must also prevent his best friend, "Doc", from dying in the future.
In Part II, Marty travels to the year 2015 to prevent his children from getting into trouble. At the end of this movie, the DeLorean's board (where they adjust the time travel dates) starts to malfunction and as a result, Doc is sent back in time to 1885, which leads to the events of Part III.
Volver al Futuro es un film increíble, para mí uno de los mejores de los 80’s (en el género de Ciencia Ficción, claro está). La producción es asombrosa, porque cuenta con efectos bastante novedosos para aquella época, además de que la historia es muy original ¡toda una genialidad! Y la línea argumental nunca pierda el sentido en ningún momento, cada detalle de la película encaja a la perfección, todo está increíblemente bien estructurado. Es una película apta para todo público, y creo que los que la hemos visto estamos bastante claros en que si le colocas esta película a un niño de 8 años, lo vas a enganchar por completo a la pantalla del televisor hasta que Marty logre reunir de nuevo a sus padres.
Back to the Future is an incredible film, for me one of the best of the 80's (in the Science Fiction genre, of course). The production is amazing, because it has quite innovative effects for that time, plus the story is very original, genius! And the story line never loses sense at any time, every detail of the film fits perfectly, everything is incredibly well structured. It is a movie suitable for all audiences, and I think those of us who have seen it are pretty clear that if you put this movie to an 8 year old child, you will hook him completely to the TV screen until Marty manages to reunite his parents again.
TITANIC
(1997)
De la Ciencia Ficción ahora pasamos al Romance y Drama. No haré énfasis en la reseña porque creo que esta es una de esas películas que todo el mundo ha visto alguna vez en su vida pues en su momento logró un éxito impresionante en taquilla y es otra de esas películas que ha sabido trascender de generación en generación.
La historia de este trasatlántico bautizado con el nombre de Titanic siempre me ha parecido interesante, aquel enorme barco que todos juraban que nunca podría ser hundido pero que terminó desapareciendo en las aguas del Océano Atlántico en su viaje inaugural. Pero fue esta tragedia la que inspiró a la creación de una de las películas más galardonadas e impactantes en la historia del cine. Esta película, estrenada en 1997, fue todo un fenómeno debido a los increíbles efectos especiales para la época, las interpretaciones de los actores y la buena química que podía percibirse entre ellos y aquel romance tan épico que al ritmo de “My heart will go on” cantada por la gran Celine Dion lograron remover los sentimientos de más de una persona, incluso a muchos años después de su estreno.
From Science Fiction we now move on to Romance and Drama. I will not emphasize in the review because I think this is one of those movies that everyone has seen sometime in his life because at the time it achieved an impressive success at the box office and is another of those films that has managed to transcend from generation to generation.
The story of this ocean liner named Titanic has always been interesting to me, that huge ship that everyone swore could never be sunk but ended up disappearing in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean on its maiden voyage. But it was this tragedy that inspired the creation of one of the most award-winning and impactful films in the history of cinema. This movie, released in 1997, was a phenomenon due to the incredible special effects for the time, the performances of the actors and the good chemistry that could be perceived between them and that epic romance that to the rhythm of "My heart will go on" sung by the great Celine Dion managed to stir the feelings of more than one person, even many years after its release.
Esta es una obra maestra que mezcla el drama romántico con el cine de catástrofes y es por eso que la película puede verse desde dos puntos de vista bastante diferentes: uno de ellos es la trágica y corta historia de amor entre Jack y Rose, mientras que el otro punto de vista se centraba en la tragedia alrededor del hundimiento. Yo soy de ese tipo de personas que les llama más la atención ese segundo punto de vista, pero no puedo dejar lado esa historia de amor ficticia que rompió tanto mi corazón.
Muchas cosas son las que me hacen amar esta película, comenzando por la química innegable que había entre Leonardo DiCaprio y Kate Winslet, realmente no me imagino a otros actores como los protagonistas de esta historia. Otra de las cosas que se me hace sumamente genial es que la mayoría de las tomas submarinas en donde podemos ver los restos del Titanic ¡son reales! Pues James Cameron, el director de la película, contrató a una embarcación rusa para realizar las expediciones hacia los restos del Titanic y poder grabar las imágenes para incluirlas en la película…¿no les parece esto una absoluta genialidad?
This is a masterpiece that mixes romantic drama with disaster movies and that's why the movie can be seen from two quite different points of view: one of them is the tragic and short love story between Jack and Rose, while the other point of view focused on the tragedy around the sinking. I'm the kind of person who is more attracted to the second point of view, but I can't let go of that fictional love story that broke my heart so much.
There are many things that make me love this movie, starting with the undeniable chemistry between Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, I really can't imagine other actors as the protagonists of this story. Another thing that I think is really cool is that most of the underwater shots where we can see the remains of the Titanic are real! James Cameron, the director of the film, hired a Russian boat to make expeditions to the wreckage of the Titanic and to record the images to include them in the film...don't you think this is an absolute genius?
STAR WARS: EPISODIO V - EL IMPERIO CONTRAATACA
STAR WARS: EPISODE V - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

Por lo general las secuelas siempre suelen ser bastante malas, nunca llegan a superar o al menos a alcanzar el mismo nivel que sus predecesoras. Pero en mi opinión esto no ocurre con El Imperio Contraataca, esta segunda entrega es mi favorita y me ha parecido mucho mejor que Una Nueva Esperanza.
En esa secuela hubo mucha variedad en los efectos especiales, además de que se nota una mejora en las actuaciones de los personajes. También a nivel de producción se perfeccionó bastante, en comparación con Una Nueva Esperanza y eso es algo que se puede notar en los entornos, el guión e incluso en el vestuario. En esta entrega es que Star Wars comienza a expandirse un poco más en cuanto a planetas, personas y máquinas de batalla...ya el panorama comienza a ser un poco más amplio y eso es algo que a mi me pareció sumamente genial.
Usually sequels are always pretty bad, they never surpass or at least reach the same level as their predecessors. But in my opinion this does not happen with The Empire Strikes Back, this second installment is my favorite and I found it much better than A New Hope.
In that sequel there was a lot of variety in the special effects, plus you can notice an improvement in the performances of the characters. Also at the production level it was quite perfected, compared to A New Hope and that is something you can notice in the environments, the script and even in the costumes. In this installment is that Star Wars begins to expand a little more in terms of planets, people and battle machines ... and the picture begins to be a little broader and that's something that I found extremely cool.
Otra de las razones por la cual esta es una de mis películas favoritas de toda esta franquicia, es que aquí se introduce a uno de los personajes más entrañables en todo el mundo de Star Wars: el pequeño maestro Yoda, quien le da grandes lecciones a Luke. También R2-D2 tiene mucho más protagonismo en relación a la película anterior, y a pesar de que sólo hacía «Beep» es un personaje con gran personalidad. Además de aquí también ocurre la tremenda revelación por parte de Darth Vader a Luke: "No, yo soy tu padre"...sin duda una de las frases más memorables de la historia del cine y una de las escenas más icónicas.
En esta película ocurren una gran cantidad de giros inesperados que dejan al espectador con la boca abierta y sin poder creer qué es lo que está pasando, como por ejemplo: Darth Vader tendiéndole una trampa a los amigos de Luke, Han Solo congelado en carbonita o a Luke yendo a enfrentar a Darth Vader sin aun poder dominar La Fuerza en su totalidad, y esto solo por nombrar pocos giros inesperados, porque la verdad es que hay muchos más. Y son esos giros inesperados los que nos conducen a un final también inesperado: los héroes terminan derrotados, el final es bastante suspensivo pues los personajes buenos quedan a la deriva sin saber qué es lo que va a ocurrir o qué es lo que van a hacer para terminar de vencer a Darth Vader y a su maestro El Emperador.
Y por todas estas razones esta es una de mis películas clásicas favoritas que no puedo dejar de ver.

And for all these reasons this is one of my favorite classic movies that I can't stop watching.

Pobre Jack, pero murió feliz. Titanic me hace llorar. En el cine la vi dos veces y es otra que cuando la encuentro pasando los canales, la dejo para volverla a ver. Igual Volver al futuro y Forrest Gump, son ese tipo de películas que uno no se cansa de ver una y otra vez.
Star Wars me gusta solo la primera trilogía, las demás han sido un tostón de los grandes y todo su universo extendido paso de largo. Los ultra fanático de esa saga tienen hasta una secta, hasta querían hacer una religión Jedi.
Hay de todo en este mundo, pasa igual con los trekkies, los fanáticos de Star Trek, vi un documental donde una mujer asistía a su lugar de trabajo vestida como una de los personajes. XD Saludos y éxitos !
Son unas películas increíbles que no envejecen con el paso de los años, realmente es increíble como una película puede generar mil y un sentimientos en el espectador a pesar de verlas una y otra vez y ya sabes qué es lo que va a ocurrir. Concuerdo contigo en relación a Star Wars, la primera trilogía es la mejor...después de que Disney tomó la franquicia las películas dejaron de ser tan buenas como las primeras.

Nada como las primeras entregas de Star Wars, claro yo era muy joven pero cuando las vi por primera vez me queda enamorado de la saga y soy de esos seguidores que se volvió a ver los primeros 6 episodios cuando salió el episodio 7.

Yo las vi ya adulto. Cuando era niño recuerdo que la estrenaron en RCTV, pero yo no la vi. Desde muy pequeño odiaba los comerciales de televisión que interrumpían la película. Me llamaba mas la atención películas sobre mafia, los western y las de Brue Lee. Star Wars La vi adulto, alquilándolas en el videoclub. Quizás por eso no soy un fan conocedor de toda la saga, me quedo con las primeras películas. me gustan y son geniales, todo lo demás que vino luego , me dejo decepcionado.
Si, los últimos episodios 7, 8 y 9 están dirigidos a la nueva generación y eso deja fuera de base a los que seguimos la saga original pero sabes no se si has visto está serie The Mandalorian, está enfocada en esos primeros episodios y mantiene viva esa llama de lo que fue Star Wars en su inicios, además tiene una trama adictiva que te deja siempre queriendo más, te la recomiendo mi pana.
Se cual es la serie, pero te soy sincero, no tengo planeado verla. Me gustan los actores, ha recibido el apoyo del publico y la critica, pero no le veo sentido mas que marketing de Disne Por eso piensan hacer spin off de cuanto personaje de ese universo, en sus planes esta exprimirle hasta la ultima gota. Ya la historia se conto , no me interesan las aventuras de otros personajes del mismo universo. Quizás se les ocurra hacer una sitcom con C3TPO y R2-D2 de pareja gay romántica que adoptan al robot redondo de las ultimas entregas. Si le dan ese toque de humor, podría verla. Jajajajajaja
