Villains today: do we hate to love them or love to hate them? / Los villanos en la actualidad: ¿odiamos amarlos o amamos odiarlos?
Greetings dear lovers of movies and tv series. In this post, I join the contest created by @ocd to give a boost to the communities within the blockchain, and in this case the chosen community has been Movies & TV Shows, a community dedicated to all this world of movies and series.
In this contest we are asked to answer one of 3 questions related to the film world, this in order to identify the interests of users on this topic. If you want to participate, here is the link with everything you need to know about this contest. The question I decided to answer is:
Who are your favorite villains in movies or TV series and why?
Saludos queridos amantes de las películas y series de tv. En este post, me uno al concurso creado por @ocd para dar un impulso a las comunidades dentro de la blockchain, y en este caso la comunidad escogida ha sido la de Movies & TV Shows, una comunidad dedicada a todo este mundo del cine y las series.
En este concurso se nos pide responder una de 3 preguntas relacionadas con el mundo cinematográfico, esto con el fin de identificar los intereses de los usuarios en cuanto a este tópico. ¿Quiénes son tus villanos favoritos en películas o series de televisión y por qué?
When we are children, it is very easy to identify with a superhero, we always look to be the ones who at the end of the day solve everything, also for that time, the villains were not painted as intelligent or interesting, but as Alfred Hitchcock said "The better the villain, the better the movie", nowadays, movie productions have had to give a more protagonist and fundamental role to the superheroes' counterparts, making us want to know more about them, to know their history and what led them to go to what for many is "the conflicting side" but for them is simply the right side.
Cuando somos niños, es muy fácil identificarse con un superhéroe, siempre buscamos ser quienes al final del día resuelvan todo, además para ese tiempo, a los villanos no los pintaban tan inteligentes o interesantes, pero así como lo dijo Alfred Hitchcock "Mientras mejor es el villano, mejor es la película", en la actualidad, las producciones cinematográficas han tenido que darle un papel más protagónico y fundamental a las contrapartes de los superhéroes, haciéndonos desear más de ellos, saber su historia y qué los llevo a pasarse a lo que para muchos es “el bando contrario” pero para ellos es simplemente el lado correcto.
As for TV series I must say that if anyone left me speechless was Cersei Lannister in the HBO series Game of Thrones, played by Lena Headey, Cersei was an evil woman without nuance, belonging to a family also hated by many. This character was at the center of the series from day 1 to the final episode.
She was an ambitious and narcissistic woman and since she was a child nothing stopped her in her lust for power, not even her gender since, in the patriarchal culture of Westeros, certain restrictions were imposed on her leaving her as her only function to marry some knight and provide offspring, she was raised for it, to be beautiful and smile, however, Cersei always wanted more. From an early age, she was known to have violent tendencies that she enjoyed.
En cuanto a serie de televisión debo decir que si alguien me dejó sin palabras fue Cersei Lannister en la serie de HBO Game of Thrones, interpretado por Lena Headey, Cersei era una mujer malvada y sin matices, perteneciente a una familia también odiada por muchos. Este personaje estuvo en el centro de la serie desde el día 1 hasta el episodio final.
Era una mujer ambiciosa y narcisista y desde pequeña nada la detuvo en sus ansias de poder, ni siquiera su género ya que, en la cultura patriarcal de Poniente, se le impusieron ciertas restricciones dejándole como su única función casarse con algún caballero y proveerle descendencia, fue criada para ello, ser bella y sonreír, sin embargo, Cersei quiso siempre más. Desde temprana edad, se le conocieron tendencias violentas que ella disfrutaba.
Throughout the series, Cersei knew how to play a very good political role, often using her gender to her advantage. She knew how to handle herself intelligently even up to the final episode, where knowing that she was going to die, she let all the people of Westeros take refuge in the palace, so that when the enemy army came to overthrow her, morally they would lose the battle for all the innocent lives that were killed in the process, which is what happened.
Something constant for this character is the inordinate love for her family, the admiration for her father, the immense love for her twin Jaime and the unmanifested respect for her younger brother Tyrion, not to mention the inordinate love for her children whom she had to see die. While Cersei was the most outstanding villain of this series for me, the circumstances surrounding her influenced her conduct of life until her death.
Durante toda la serie, Cersei supo jugar un muy buen papel político, utilizando en muchas ocasiones su género para ganar ventaja. Se supo manejar de manera inteligente incluso hasta el episodio final, donde sabiendo que iba a morir, deja que todas las personas de Westeros se refugien en el palacio, para que cuando venga el ejército enemigo a derrocarla, moralmente pierdan la batalla por todas las vidas inocentes que se asesinaron en el proceso, cosa que fue lo que sucedió.
Algo constante para este personaje es el amor desmedido por su familia, la admiración a su padre, el amor inmenso por su gemelo Jaime y el respeto no manifiesto por su hermano menor Tyrion, sin hablar del amor desmedido por sus hijos a los cuales tuvo que ver morir. Si bien Cersei fue la villana más destacada de esta serie para mí, las circunstancias que la rodearon influyeron en su conducta de vida hasta su muerte.
In my view, every move she makes is part of a domino effect, and she has a vision of the end. Occasionally this blindsides her at times, but it definitely makes her the smarter villain. These types of villains who know how to play their cards right throughout the plot of the series are the ones that really leave me hooked, to the point that I don't know if I hate to love her or love to hate her.
Desde mi punto de vista, cada movimiento que hace es parte de un efecto dominó, y ella tiene una visión del final. En ocasiones esto la ciega a veces, pero definitivamente la convierte en la villana más inteligente. Este tipo de villanos que saben jugar bien sus cartas durante toda la trama de la serie son los que me dejan realmente enganchada, a tal punto que no se si odio amarla o amo odiarla.
Moving on to the big screen, one of my favorite villains of all time is The Joker, Batman's first individual villain who was born in 1940. Over the years we have seen countless actors embody this character, some were loved, others hated for not doing justice to the character in the comics, although I must say that after Heath Ledger's performance, the flag with the expectations for an upcoming Joker was well raised.
Pasando ahora a la pantalla grande, uno de mis villanos favoritos de todos los tiempos es El Joker, el primer villano individual de Batman que nació en el año 1940. A lo largo de los años hemos visto innumerables actores encarnar a este personaje, algunos fueron amados, otros odiados por no hacerle justicia al personaje de los comics, aunque debo decir que después de la interpretación de Heath Ledger, la bandera con las expectativas para un próximo Joker quedó bien elevada.
The choice of a clown as a villain generates a total duality, on the one hand, innocence, but on the other hand, the distortion of his attire and features, in addition to his obvious madness, can cause terror, a formula that they have managed to use for this DC Comics villain. The interesting thing about the Joker is that there is not something that motivates him, there does not seem to be a background for this character, beyond madness, "there are men who just want to see the world burn", this fact makes him incredibly more dangerous, capable of kidnapping, murdering and even tearing off the face of some adversary.
La elección de un payaso como villano genera una total dualidad, por un lado, la inocencia, pero, por otro lado, la distorsión de sus atuendos y rasgos, además de su evidente locura, pueden causar terror, una fórmula que han sabido utilizar para este villano de DC Comics. Lo interesante del Joker es que no hay algo que lo motive, no parece existir un trasfondo para este personaje, más allá de la locura, “hay hombres que sólo quieren ver arder el mundo", este hecho lo hace increíblemente más peligroso, capaz de secuestrar, asesinar e incluso arrancar el rostro de algún adversario.
As this post is about the preferences of each one of us in this community, I must say that my two favorite Jokers have been the ones played by Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix. The first one simply stole the movie from Batman, he was the one people talked about when leaving the theaters, instead of the hero of Gotham City, the second one because he showed us something we had not seen before, the story of a man abandoned by the city who found a way to deal with his problems through organized crime, Phoenix's Joker became a kind of leader who spoke out loudly for all the marginalized.
Como este post se trata de las preferencias de cada uno de los que hacemos vida en esta comunidad, debo decir que mis dos Jokers favoritos han sido los interpretados por Heath Ledger y por Joaquin Phoenix. El primero simplemente le robó la película a Batman, era de él de quien se hablaba al salir de las salas de cine, en vez del héroe de Ciudad Gótica, el segundo porque nos mostró algo que no habíamos visto antes, la historia de un hombre abandonado por la ciudad que consiguió la manera de lidiar con sus problemas a través del crimen organizado, el Joker de Phoenix se convirtió en una especie de líder que habló en voz alta por todos los marginados.
For a villain to be perfect they must drink from the reality of the world, and although we see all these acts committed by these antagonists and somehow we condemn them, we must remember that reality surpasses fiction and if there is something we like about villains is that they awaken in us something that was asleep, they have a kind of magnetic field that attracts us to their reality of life and sometimes we sympathize with some of their causes. Which villain do you relate with?
Para que un villano sea perfecto debe beber de la realidad del mundo, y aunque vemos todos estos actos que cometen estos antagonistas y de alguna manera los condenamos, debemos recordar que la realidad supera la ficción y si hay algo que nos gusta de los villanos es que despiertan en nosotros algo que estaba dormido, poseen una especie de campo magnético que nos atrae a su realidad de vida y en ocasiones nos simpatizan algunas de sus causas. Gracias amigo por pasarte por acá. La verdad es que ese personaje me gustó durante toda la trama de la serie, incluso en un punto llegué a admirar sus ansias de poder y de no rendirse jamás.

Con respecto a los villanos... Tengo ese sentimiento de amor6y odio hacia uno de los mejores villanos el cual debería estar en otra categoría como ya lo he dicho en otras oportunidades,es sobre The Joker, que está en otro nivel un villano que no desea dinero, ni poder, nada dentro de lo común... Solo ver arder el mundo, ese propósito lo hace tan difícil de comprender y nos ponemos en sus zapatos y es que el mundo es tan falso que solo se necesita presionar donde es para ver el verdadero rostro de las personas.

Correcto por eso en mi post hago mención a q como no se saben los motivos que lo mueven, es fácil para nosotros simpatizar con él, incluso cuando es un asesino, lo que sucede es q sabe manipular a las masas porque ha vivido la explotación de las mismas, es un villano del pueblo y para el pueblo.
Cómo dices, The Joker está en otro nivel.
